This phrase “Uncle Tom,” I do not think it means what you think it means

The irony of being called an Uncle Tom because one makes decisions for oneself and refuses to do what society or one’s peers thinks one should do is lost on this fucking idiot.

“They’re willing to be accepted with no rights, no right to marry, no right to serve in the military, no right to be protected against hate crimes…20 years now I‘ve been hearing why the Log Cabins are gonna make the Republicans better and they’ve been getting worse,” Frank said. “I now understand why they call themselves the Log Cabin Republicans: Their role model is Uncle Tom.”

So I guess that Democrats had nothing to do with the Defense of Marriage Act, and nothing to do with Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.  It must all be Bush’s fault.
