Praise for Michael Moore

I occasionally wonder if Michael Moore is the Larry the Cable Guy of the crockumentary circuit.

I mean, Larry the Cable Guy makes fun of them thar stupid rednecks and became rich, Michael Moore makes fun of leftist nitwits and became rich. It fits.

Case in point.

So Wayne LaPierre had his press conference (where he should not have blamed jack shit on violent video games and movies) and leftists lost their shit and Bob Owens was there to chronicle it. They’re mostly stupid and annoying and ignorant, but Michael Moore went above and beyond the call of doody.

Quoth Michael Moore

we saw that prohibition didn’t work, so we repealed that amendment. As ”bearing arms” no longer means muskets, let’s repeal the 2ndAmendment

In other words, Prohibition didn’t work so let’s prohibit guns.

That’s something Homer Simpson would say, along the lines of his question, “Did you know they have the Internet on computers these days?”.

I seriously wonder if  people like Moore and John Cole at Balloon Juice are doing performance art and will tell us when they tire of it.

Needs a gun. We haven’t had anything here for a long time. Hmmmm, I know.

It Goes BOOM!

It Goes BOOM!

Well put. And DAMN that is a nice gun.

Were you able to stomach “Bowling for Columbine” or even watch it? I heard it was such a perfect example of Moore’s penchant for cutting and pasting for out-of-context results that I decided to not watch it because I didn’t want to have a stroke.

    I love my .500.

I’ve never watched any of fatso’s craptacular crap movies. They’re crap, that’s why. The NRA presser was good and bad. The video game stuff should’ve been avoided, not relevant. But allowing teachers who may want to have a CCW permit and carry in the classroom with proper training and screening, should be one option. SROs another option (which is already done in some school districts). Getting rid of the assinine “gun free zones”, because all it does is become a free fire zone.

You should be able to sue the shit out of the owner of the self-declared ‘gun-free zone’ if you’re shot there. If they won’t let me defend myself they’re morally, and should be legally, bound to protect me.

Not having watched the NRA presser, I have heard tons about the mention of gun based video games. Having raised little people with the benefit of hands on time with guns, safety lessons, and ultimately purchased their first firearm for them, I can tell you I see a huge difference between my Monster and the others at school who only have xbox or ps3 gun experience. Like it or not, when kids only exposure to guns is through games and movies, it makes a difference. However, that said, I lay that stupidity right at the feet of their fucked up parents who think Little Johnny needs his (insert gun based video game here) at 11 years old. Keeping mind that these are some of the very same parents who had a shitfit when my Monster’s b-day invite went out and we were taking her and the 5 kids of her choice to the gun range.Heaven forbid we put real guns in kids hands, with some safety lessons, a Range Master, and oh yeah, parents had to stay too, but they were fine handing out gun games like crack.
Ultimately, the parents who did suck it up and come out with their kids had a grand time and learned a little something too.
