If you take blood pressure meds…

…you’ll probably want to pop a handful of them before reading this:

Officials in a California school district said a middle school student was told to take a U.S. flag off his bike to avoid “racial tension.”

Denair Unified School District Superintendent Edward Parraz said Cody Alicea, 13, was told not to fly the U.S. flag from his bike while at Denair Middle School after complaints from other students, KCRA-TV, Sacramento, Calif., reported.

“(The) First Amendment is important,” Parraz said. “We want the kids to respect it, understand it, and with that comes a responsibility.”

Yeah, because flying an American flag is akin to shouting “FIRE!” in a crowded theater.

And why is this such a powder keg situation?  Let’s let Parraz explain…

“Our Hispanic, you know, kids will, you know, bring their Mexican flags [on Cinco de Mayo] and they’ll display it, and then of course the kids would do the American flag situation, and it does cause kind of a racial tension which we don’t really want,” Parraz said. “We want them to appreciate the cultures.”

HOLY FUCKING FUCKITY-FUCK MOTHERFUCKING FUCK!!!

So, let me get this straight…It’s all fine and dandy for kids whose heritage is traced back to a foreign country to bring their flags to school to celebrate a foreign holiday, but a kid who wants to fly OUR flag on his bike is somehow in the wrong?  And how about trying to get the kids who are bringing the Mexican flag to school to appreciate, you know, the culture of the country that they’re living in and whose taxpayers are subsidizing their fucking public education? Also, Cinco de Mayo was six fucking months ago, so that doesn’t really seem like it should be an issue at this point. I mean, I come from Irish people, but I don’t look at every damn day like it’s St. Patrick’s Day.

(Okay, maybe that’s not the best example as far as I’m personally concerned, but you know what I’m getting at.)

If the display of the American flag on the campus of an American public school is causing “racial tension,” it might be time to take a long, hard look at how your own multi-culti bullshit has undermined the assimilation of some of your students into American society, rather than lecturing an American student about his First Amendment “responsibility,” seeing as how you don’t seem to fucking grasp the concept yourself, you ass-spelunking, goatse-mouthed, anti-American piece of shit.

Please God, please let me out of California. I’ll be good, I promise! Please?!?!

  2. Car in says:

I could start scouting out houses for you Peej.

  3. The one next to me got dropped to $130k. OMG we could be neighbors!

I think it’s hilarious that the Superintendent brings up the First Amendment since under current Supreme Court precedent students basically have no First Amendment rights.

If I were that kid’s parents? I would go to one of those places that does the wrappers around cars, have my car turned into an American flag and make sure that I’m the first one there to pick up my kid every day from school. I’d love to see someone try to justify telling the parents they can’t do that.

  5. Jay in Ames says:

Let’s just give it back to Mexico, right now. Let them take care of it.

    Jeez.

Yup, you can pretty much strip any student of 1st Amendment rights, all it takes is causing a significant disruption, or y’know “causing a significant disruption.” I think if I were this kid I’d rally a bunch of other students to make it so Mexican flags become “a significant disruption” to fuck with the Super.

I spent 4 years in California while in the Navy and believe me, that was enough. If I was still there now and they did this to my daughter, she’d be getting escorted into the office by me EVERY day wearing an American flag somewhere prominently on her person and I would tell the administration to like it and kiss my ass.

Just one more reason I love living in Tennessee. About the only “foreign” flag you ever see here is a Confederate one 🙂

  8. Veeshir says:

Yeah, I loved the way he talks about the 1st amendment as he’s stripping those rights.

And that’s why I love living in VA. They have generally civilized gun laws (except you can only buy on handgun a month if you don’t have a concealed carry permit), and they are considering this

    A Gadsden flag license plate.

Sweet. I’d love to see something done with the flag of the Pennsylvania Militia, 1st Rifles banner from the Revolution, http://www.flagguys.com/img/h141.jpg

Domari Nolo being I Will Not Be Subjugated. This flag needs to fly again. Gadsden is great, but the PM1R needs to come back.

  10. doubleplusundead says:

    D’oh, that’s 1st Regiment…sorry, not awake yet.

  11. Veeshir says:

The Culpepper Militia (Culpepper, VA) used the Gadsden flag.
Maybe that’s why they’re doing it.

  12. doubleplusundead says:

Oh, we know why they’re doing it, but that serves as a handy excuse. 😀

  13. TheUnrepentantGeek says:

Progressives don’t truly acknowledge our national sovereignty. They’re already looking forward to the glorious cultural mosaic of a united world. Can’t we all just be nice to each other?

    Yes, they’re really that naive.

  14. Dr Spank says:

They should bring back the “Mexico Sucks” flag I just thought up.

  15. davis,br says:

Please God, please let me out of California

Put in a good word, for me too PM.

…anyone live in Spokane? (That’s where the dart landed.)
