It’s Springsteen’s World

Posted: January 29, 2011 by veeshir in Obama's Fault

And we’re just stick in it.

Pre-Born in the USA Springsteen of course. Back when he sang about the sucky life of factory town NJ.

David Harsanyi quoting Obama in the SOTU

President Barack Obama reminisced of an age when “good jobs” meant “showing up at a nearby factory or a business downtown.” A time when you “didn’t always need a degree, and your competition was pretty much limited to your neighbors,” and if you “worked hard, chances are you’d have a job for life, with a decent paycheck and good benefits and the occasional promotion. Maybe you’d even have the pride of seeing your kids work at the same company.

Quote Springsteen in The River

And for my nineteenth birthday I got a union card and a wedding coat
We went down to the courthouse
And the judge put it all to rest
No wedding day smiles no walk down the aisle
No flowers no wedding dress

I know that’s how I wanted my life to go.

The worst part? CAFE standards took away our 396s with Fuely heads and a Hurst on the floor.

Bastids.

As an aside, CNN has rocked on Egypt. Fox can’t seem to understand that I don’t like their “personalities” more than I want to hear about a fucking revolution going on.

Sci Fi is going to be all jealous when they hear about this.

FORMER besties, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, have been offered $500,000 each to take part in a boxing match.

I figure it’s about 4 years too soon, neither one has sunk quite that low, yet, to really need the half mill.

So we have something to look forward to.

I forget where I saw this, I feel kinda bad about that.

One of the things that makes me laugh/cringe is how today’s progressives/leftists and yesterday’s racists all seem to have the same goals.

Case in point.

A Pennsylvania high school says some students are separated by race, gender and language for a few minutes each day in an effort to boost academic scores, raising controversy over the historically contentious issue of segregation in schools.

The initiative is a pilot program intended to capitalize on “enriching students’ experiences through mentoring” and is derived from school research “that shows grouping black students by gender with a strong role model can help boost their academic achievement and self esteem,” according to a statement from McCaskey East High School in Lancaster.

So, segregation is good now?

The balkanization of America is chugging along.

I can understand why, it worked so well in the Balkans.

Let’s not bicker and argue over who killed who

Just when I want to give Obama credit for something  (he actually started off right on Egypt), he goes and let’s Joe Biden say Mubarak isn’t a dictator and now this.

White House spokesperson Robert Gibbs said that the Egyptian government had an “obligation not to engage in violence,” in the latest US call for calm amid high political tensions in Cairo and other cities.

He also said there was an obligation “by those that are protesting not to engage in violence by burning government buildings.”

Sigh.

Update: Added link to Biden’s comments I forgot earlier

Wendy Nugent of Irvine penned the following missive to The Orange County Register:

The GOP chose Rep. Paul Ryan, who proudly calls himself one of the Republican “young guns,” to give the official rebuttal to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech.

Less than three weeks after the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and murder of six bystanders at her Tucson event, Republicans cling to this inappropriate violent imagery. Of course, they’ll express their shock and outrage the next time gunfire kills an innocent American, especially a “young victim.”

Debbie Gibson Vs Tiffany

Oh, and there’s a megapython fighting a gatoroid too.

If Sci Fi keeps giving me what I want, I might even have to use their lame spelling.

Update:
Mega Piranha is all about teh funny, not enough silicone though. It started off well, but all the hotties were eaten in the first 5 minutes.

Another update: This movie is about 15-20 years too late. Tiffany really let herself go. Debbie Gibson still looks cute but surely looks ridden hard and put away wet.
