Breaking out my “I ♥ Waterboarding” shirt

And yes, I do have one.  I don’t have many occasions where I can wear it, but I’m thinking today it’s totally and completely appropriate and I can get in the face of any libtard who gives me any grief whatsoever about it.

With no sense of sarcasm, many on the left called for both closing Guantanamo Bay Prison, and an end to the use of waterboarding. Osama bin Laden was caught and killed through the usage of both things. Apparently, al Qaeda terrorists were waterboarded at Guantanamo Bay, and they confessed to the CIA the identity of Osama bin Laden’s messenger. From there, the CIA began to track bin Laden’s messenger in Pakistan. The CIA tracked the messenger to Osama bin Laden’s compound, and sent in the Navy Seals to kill him. The Seals, possibly the most elite warriors on the planet, went in with guns blazing and took bin Laden out. America had now achieved one of the biggest military victories since World War II.

Sadly, the left in America was so naive in its thinking, that the closing of Gitmo and possible end of waterboarding were two of the things that got Obama elected. His promises to do so were undoubtedly things that contributed to him winning his Nobel Peace Prize.

Did President Obama won his Nobel Peace Prize by lying about his intent to close Guantanamo Bay, or was he too busy improving his golf swing to get around to doing it?

I’ve seen a number of posts here and there on the web commenting that the sole reason Bin Laden is rotting in Hell was through the continuation of the Bush Doctrine.  It certainly wasn’t through rigorous application of the Obama Doctrine:

Finally, the work to build a stronger foundation for our leadership within our borders recognizes that the most effective way for the United States of America to promote our values is to live them. America’s commitment to democracy, human rights, and the rule of law are essential sources of our strength and influence in the world. They too must be cultivated by our rejection of actions like torture that are not in line with our values, by our commitment to pursue justice consistent with our Constitution, and by our steady determination to extend the promise of America to all of our citizens.

I suppose at the least we can thank President Obama for not claiming the information leading to the location of Bin Laden was fruit of the poisoned tree and ordering the CIA and Navy to not act on it.

And then we have the Bush Doctrine, which I’d excerpt from but there are too many important points, like the entire content of Section IX.

The difference between how I mean “I miss President Bush” today versus how I meant “I miss President Bush” even a few days ago is the difference between “I miss my dead buddy” and “I miss my dead buddy who I just found out saved my child from a pack of attacking zombie ninjas and was subsequently eaten, but never got or would have tried to claim the credit for it.”
