Vote your conscience? Not in today’s GOP

Posted: July 30, 2011 by veeshir in Uncategorized

You know, I keep hearing how great Boehner is but when I pay attention, he’s just another career pol working to save his power at my expense.

Case in point,

Jim Jordan’s open defiance of Speaker John Boehner’s efforts to solve the debt-ceiling crisis could cost the Urbana Republican his safe House seat in next year’s election.

Two Republican sources deeply involved in configuring new Ohio congressional districts confirmed to The Dispatch  today  that Jordan’s disloyalty to Boehner has put him in jeopardy of being zeroed out of a district.

He was elected as a Tea Party guy and he’s voting the way he was elected to vote but, since he’s pissing off Boehner well, nice district you have there, be  a shame if something happened to it.

Slimy career pol uses slimy political move to get rid of someone who’s voting the way he was elected to vote.

How Boehner feels about the Tea Party and tea party types is becoming more and more obvious every day.

Geez, I almost miss Denny Hastert.

So, anybody have any ideas on what to name the new party after 2012 shows us the GOP is the other party of patrician privilege?

I’m leaning toward the “Constitution Party”.

The Art of Manliness72 Hour Bug Out Bag.  Following up on yesterday’s survival shotgun.  I think he went a little overboard in a couple places, and I would definitely change the food around.  same with the weaponry.  When I think 72 hour bag I am thinking earthquake / flood get out of the area to family or friends.  I would go an entirely different route for civil insurrection / apocalypse.  That’s me maybe you don’t have those options and have to stay in an area that goes all post-Katrina.  If so I would be carrying more than a revolver.

They’re Not Atheists

They just hate Christianity.

That’s a link to Gateway Pundit linking the NY Times so I don’t have to.

‘Atheists’ are suing to keep the cross from the WTC (you remember) from being displayed at a 9/11 memorial.

There’s a strain, I don’t know the size but it’s vocal, of people in America who hate Christianity. I try not to visit motives unless they’re obvious (Hey Congress!), but it’s obvious these people’s motivating factor is hatred of Christianity and/or Christians.

Why else have a problem with the cross from the WTC? It doesn’t hurt anybody to display it, it just annoys people who hate Christianity. Why does it annoy them? Seriously, the only reason I can think of is hatred.

Or take this that I see on a car in my neighborhood.

That insults two religions. It’s taking a Christian symbol and crapping on it, which unnecessary fucking with is against the whole point of Buddhism.

Some people take Christianity and try to make it fit their worldview (Church of England for instance), others change religion but both types often spend all their time just hating on Christianity and devout Christians.

So as an atheist who doesn’t hate Christianity, I wish the haters would just leave my lack of belief in a deity alone.

Eh, could be worse. I could be Moslem and have to deal with fellow believers blowing people up.

I added this to the ‘op/sped’ category because I don’t know what that means.
