Headline correction

“Family may sue because Nanny State wasn’t Nanny State enough”.

While we’re at it, let’s correct the lede too.

The family of an elderly man who died in his home after refusing medical help for weeks declines to acknowledge all the levels of personal responsibility their moral code ignores.

There, that’s better.  I wish Sean were available to give it a re-rewrite, though.

  1. Veeshir says:

Of course if the police had forced the old man into the hospital we’d be reading about the family suing because the police ‘arrested’ him for the crime of wanting to be left alone, infringing on his civil rights.

The coroner should sue the family for not taking care of their family member and causing pain and suffering for him to have to determine cause of death on a man who shouldn’t be dead.

  2. Goober says:

I will never understand why people think the government is the answer to all things. Why did this man’s family use the courts and the sheriff to do what they should have done, themselves? The courts and the Sheriff should never have been involved. I’ll bet in hindsight they wish now that they weren’t.
