DIA’s Blue Mustang (yeah, the Denver Post couldn’t even bother to look up its real name) was voted the “third most bizarre public art piece in the US.”

And then we have the non-DIA public art…
Denver has a number of pieces that are stranger than Crown Fountain or Bus Home (which doesn’t even seem to rate its own page other than that it’s a nightmare to maintain). Sorry, but just being ugly and unmaintainable and useless doesn’t make a work of art ‘bizarre’ – it’s much better when there’s a large equine penis or a curse or a New World Order conspiracy associated with the piece.
