I remember when this was called walking

I can’t exactly put my finger on why this article bothers me.

Like ‘The Flintstones,’ Eisenhower Elementary School bus uses feet as wheels

In a nutshell, there’s a guy who is paid to walk kids to school.  They call it a “walking bus”.

I guess I’m not so much turned off by the idea of what they’re doing as I am by the whole OMG THESE KIDS CAN WALK TO SCHOOL AND IT’S GOOD FOR THEM aspect of it.  (And they bring their umbrellas when it rains!!!11!1!!) Like the Camp Hill School District invented the idea of walking or something.

We are such a nation of pansies.

  1. Lance McCormick says:

I assume it has more to do with the trend of parents not letting kids play outside, walk to school, or anything because of all the pedophiles and kidnappers the media says are out there.

I’m mostly disappointed that they’re not in a big cardboard and plastic Flintmobile-style “bus.” This guy is more like a mobile crossing guard.

  2. Of course we are a nation of pansies. We order our pet’s medications for home delivery.
