In the city of Koblenz, 45,000 are being evac’d while an unexploded ordinance team works on the bomb. It was discovered along with several other bombs in the Rhine due to record low precipitation in Germany. The blockbusters were biiiiiiiig motherfuckers, basically a big fucking canister loaded with high explosive, they came in 4000lb, 8000lb, and 12000lb flavors, and were designed to smash things up to make it easier for incendiary bombs to do their thing.
Unexploded ordinance from the World Wars isn’t new for Europeans, but finding one of these things has to be pretty jarring.
