The lefty cocoon is dangerous to children and other living things (like actors).

John Lovitz said something disparaging (and blatantly obvious) about our God-President and is surprised by the reaction.

What he said

This whole thing with Obama saying the rich don’t pay their taxes is fucking bullshit. And I voted for the guy and I’m a Democrat. What a fucking asshole,

Yup. Absolutely correct in all its particulars. Although Obama is so much more than just a fucking asshole.

So then Lovitz finds out that all his buddies don’t like truth telling about Obama,

This made me laugh

Co-host Kevin Smith argued with Lovitz that he was unfairly ripping on the 99%, Lovitz fired back by saying the director was “masquerading as a 99%er.”

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha. Yeah, Silent Bob is barely squeaking buy. Tool.

This isn’t so funny (well, it is for me, but I doubt Lovitz is going to think it’s funny when he finds out that now the commies are the ones doing the blacklisting)

I never realized the economy was Democratic or Republican… I thought it was business and math

Okay, that’s hilarious, and only someone who doesn’t have to pay attention to anything except what he’s supposed to could believe that.

If you’re in a lefty world, you just don’t realize how serious it is when you attack the God-President. If you had asked Lovitz last week if Joe the Plumber deserved what happened to him, he probably would have said, “yes”.

This week? Eh, I doubt he learned anything except that he should have kept his mouth shut. He’s not big enough to have unpopular opinions.

Just ask Larry Miller.

1632

Posted: April 29, 2012 by veeshir in L.L.A.P.H.

I read the book 1632 and liked it a lot, I then read 1633 and liked that one almost as much, the Baltic War was pretty good too.

All the rest I’ve read have been crap. I made the mistake of buying the first Grantville Gazette. Ugh. Then, I got the Galileo Affair and that was all about stupid. Having a book whose main characters are really secondary characters just isn’t very good. It was like Dr. Detroit, Dan Akroyd is a great second character, one of the best, but he’s not a good main character.

So I was wondering, does anybody know if any of the other books are any good and if so, which one(s)? I just don’t like buying disappointingly crappy books

I’m looking for books in the main sequence that don’t suck, not some side story about some minor character getting involved with the Portuguese in Macao or something like that that does suck.

As a side note, if anybody likes military sci-fi, the Lost Fleet series by Jack Campbell (John Hemke) is pretty good. The second book in the second series (the war against the aliens) comes out 5/1 and I’m looking forward to it. I almost never buy hardcover sci-fi that’s not in the bargain bin, but I’m getting that. The first series was fantastic.

I don’t remember hearing about this.(warning, NY Times link, they don’t deserve the clicky, but I saw this at Ace’s and it pissed me off)

I wish I hadn’t heard about it because it’s freaking infuriating and makes me ashamed of my gov’t.In an article about a guy seeking asylum at our embassy in China they relate this story

In February… Wang Lijun, the former top police official from the region of Chongqing, sought refuge in the American Consulate in Chengdu… and he was turned over to Chinese officials, prompting criticism from some in Washington about their handling of the case. Both sides insist Mr. Wang left of his own accord.

Bastids.

Not just Obama for turning this guy over to be tortured and killed, but the fucking NY Times for covering for Obama inserting the bit about how he left of “his own accord”. Yeah, I’m fucking sure both Obama and the fucking the murderous thugs running China would say that, it doesn’t make it true or even plausible. Minitrue just has to cover for their God-President so they will cover up whatever he does that is bad.

Also notice the bit about how it received criticism “from some”. Obviously just Obama-hating jerks, there’s no reason to criticize him for this statesmanlike move. Assholes.

And what was that guy’s deal?

Mr. Wang revealed details about the killing of a British businessman, setting off a cascade of events that led to the downfall of Bo Xilai, who was the party chief in Chongqing and a member of China’s Politburo. American diplomats said they had determined that Mr. Wang’s case did not involve national security,

So the murderous thugs running China killed a Brit and the thugs did what they do, found a scapegoat. Whenever they get caught being murderous and/or corrupt, pick a scapegoat and our fine media betters never seem to be upset about it.

I am surprised they didn’t kill him, of course, I’d bet they did, but nobody reported it if it happened.

And notice the bit about how it didn’t involve national security, the murderous commie thugs killing a citizen of one of our closest and m0st trustworthy allies (with Canada and Australia) and it has nothing to do with national security.

Motherfuckers. This really pisses me off.

If you had told me in 2008 that I would be rooting for Romney to become POTUS I would have smacked you in the forehead for being stupid.

Sigh.Sometimes the funny ain’t worth the endy.

Saw it at Ace’s where RD Brewer also shows another shameful episode from Obama, the Dalai Lama going out the back door of the White House, past a trash pile.

I almost put in some hotassery, but this post needs a boomstick. A big boomstick (more…)

Hey, guess what?

We’re out of money, our federal overlords continue to appear to be unaware, some endiness for your weekend.  In this episode, the Social Security Trust is quickly running out of money.  Note how quickly that “the program’s officially out of money” date keeps jumping up.  And of course it’s the gummint’s numbers, so you know they’re rosy as hell.  Let’s play the guessing game, when do you think the “we’re officially tapped out” day hits for Social Security?  I’m betting 2024, just a hair under ten years from the predicted date, unless there’s a MAJOR, MAAAAAAJOR shakeup in DC, and that could be shakeups for better or for worse.

A protip, pick more than one MRE type for your SHTF storehouse, you might think you’ll always want your favorite, but you’re gonna get sick of it.  It’s like what people say when someone divorces or splits with a prime piece of hotassery, “Somebody, somewhere is sick of her chit.”

Especially if she’s eating nothing but MREs.

The Bad Old Days

Pretty cool pictures of NYC from 100 years ago, with one pic and a link to the NYC Archives with more, including some from the 80s.

That’s Lucky Luciano, he’s like a caricature of a Mafia goomba. The pics are a mix of cool stuff, like the painters hanging out in the rigging of the Brooklyn Bridge, and messed up, like the pic of the mobster stuffed in a garbage can.

They the pics from the 80s are interesting too.  That’s when I used to hang out in the City, and it’s weird how much it’s changed. Back then, you could, and usually would, see junkies shooting up on the streets and know that within a mile of you someone was being raped, someone else was being murdered and a bunch of someone elses were being mugged at any given minute.  It wasn’t a pretty place and you had to be very much on your toes.

That was before Benito Giuliani cleaned up the city that could not be cleaned up. It’s changed quite a bit since then.

I forget where I saw this, probably the puppy blender.

Update with the link to the archives above

Hooray Meat!

Posted: April 22, 2012 by socklessjoe in Filthy Hippies, Fun With Media, News

LA Times:

If early humans had been vegans we might all still be living in caves, Swedish researchers suggested in an article Thursday.

When a mother eats meat, her breast-fed child’s brain grows faster and she is able to wean the child at an earlier age, allowing her to have more children faster, the article explains.

Hooray Meat!  But wait, the LAT had to put in this caveat:

She notes, however, that the results say nothing about what humans today should or should not eat.

Ok, as philosophy major, I am obliged to point out that ‘is’ does not imply ‘ought’. But are we really to believe that this is not compelling evidence that some amount of meat is natural for the development of healthy children? Are we instead to believe that is acceptable to promote diets that yield slower-growing brains in children?

On the other hand, fewer and more feeble-minded children… [insert jab at the political left here].

Always fashionably late: My BAG Day Purchase

Posted: April 21, 2012 by doubleplusundead in This Is My BOOMSTICK!

As I said, the plan was a S&W 642 unless an awesome deal on something else (Read: Kickass Deal on a gently used 3″ or less K-frame) came up, and even then, I was kinda eh, I wanted a small, light .38 or .357 that I can throw in a pocket and go, and the 642 is about perfect for that purpose.  The shop had an old .32 S&W that was beautiful, but I really would have a hard time carrying and beating on such a lovely gun, I’m not going to feel bad beating a 642, plus the internal hammer on the 642 is going to draw much nicer, no snagging.

Is going to…does.

BOOMSTICK ACQUIRED!

Yep, got the 642, as I said I probably would.  Right, pics,

S&W 642 with my SOG Twitch II, which I really like, but I really fucking need to sharpen.  The grips are different, but I kinda like’em, they’re wood, so they don’t tend to stick to the fabric of your pocket, and the gator skin looking pattern tends to give it a nice grip in your hand.  I’m gonna get a Nemesis holster for pocket carry (unless someone has a better suggestion), since that seems to be the one most people like, and I’m gonna pick up some 5-Star Speedloaders (they are Moronblogger Approved! after all) and Bianchi Speed Strips.

As you can see, smallish, said smallness amplified by my big fat hamhands.

I’ll post a side by side with my 6″ 686P when WordPress decides it wants to download the pic,

And Veeshir sends along this pic of additional ammo he ordered on BAG Day, I may be watching clips from Zulu right now…may.

Anyone else got a BAG Day purchase?

A fake intertubes friend of mine posed this question.  I’m not sure it’s an entirely good idea, but for shits and giggles I thought I’d throw it out to the Moron Nation:

Fake Intertubes Friend:

Gun nut friends: Looking to purchase a semiautomatic rifle and handgun that take the same ammo. What’s the low hanging fruit, here? 9mm?

It was later pointed out that he was looking for “something with a bit more pop” than .22.

I guess I’ll ask this since my friend didn’t — is this even a good idea?  Which brings us to the purpose of the question:

For this particular purpose, all-purpose defense and emergency hunting. The former will actually be taken care of separately by a 12 gauge. The long-gun is for the emergency hunting and super-emergency (and exceedingly unlikely) defense.

The handgun, mostly, is so I have one. I am not entirely sure they will always be so easy to acquire. So while I don’t really have a need for one now, I might someday. And if that day comes, I want to be prepared.

The ammo decision is so I can lay in a significant amount and not have to worry overmuch about which goes with which. And I would also prefer it to be common and easy to find, or (if necessary) scavenge.

I guess I understand the desire to not care what ammo goes with which weapon, but in a scavenge situation, I think having two different calibers makes more sense.

In related news, bleeding zombie targets.

Also, cob-loggers, what does the “L.L.A.P.H.” category stand for?

Fuck You, Bank of America

Posted: April 21, 2012 by doubleplusundead in This Is My BOOMSTICK!

You fucking pricks.  You motherfucking pieces of chit.  McMillan is a manufacturer of rifle stocks, mostly oriented toward high precision shooting.  They also make very high quality precision long range rifles for competition and military/police/defense use.  A Canadian sniper team from Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry held the record for the furthest confirmed sniper kill with a McMillan TAC-50 until it was broken by a British sniper in 2009, both records were made in Afghanistan, until the Canucks with the McMillan came along, Carlos Hathcock’s record shot from Vietnam still held the record.  The Canucks use the TAC-50 the way our military uses the Barrett rifle, for anti-materiel and long range sniper detail..  The Navy SEALs have TAC-50s in their inventory as well.  So, neat business, successful business, and Canucks and SEALs use McMillan’s rifles to shoot Taliban shitheads in the face…and BoA decides to drop them for making rifles?

Fucking tards.

No surprise that they suck, everyone knows they fucking suck.  I don’t know anyone who likes Blight on America…if he’s out there, he’s probably sitting on a park bench with the guy who likes Windows Vista, feeding the pigeons.  But seriously, BoA just seems intent on pissing off as many people as possible.  This is actually not the first of this kind of bullchit I’ve seen/heard of from the banking industry, I know of at least one other bank that is hostile to the firearms industry.  I guess what shocks me is the brazenness and arrogance of it…do these idiots at BoA know how fast a company can spiral downward when 2A supporters show any kind of unified disgust and pull their support?  Perhaps they should ask the window-lickers at Tomkins PLC what that feels like, they ate almost $100 million in losses, selling Smith & Wesson for a tenth of what they bought it for because they sold out to the Clinton Goon Squad.

The long and short of it?  I sure as fuck won’t use BoA for any of my banking needs.
