That moment when you realize…

…that you can stop reading a silly Salon article about “The Walking Dead”:

Despite the fact that Atlanta is 54 percent African-American, when Rick arrives in a deserted Atlanta, he is swarmed by an all-white mob of walkers — in downtown Atlanta. That was my first moment of cognitive dissonance — in Atlanta, where were the black walkers? — but I let it go as I let myself get more into the story.

Okay, I probably could have stopped after seeing the words “White Partiarchy” in the title, but I’m kind of a glutton for punishment.

Okay, so I really should have just stopped when I saw the Salon link on Facebook, but like I said, glutton for punishment.

    Dear Lorraine Berry,

The reason you didn’t see any “black walkers” in the Walking Dead is because you, or someone just like you would have been writing an article about how the “White Establishment” created the show to indulge in their fantasies about killing blacks, and how racist it is to portray blacks as mindless killers. They whitewashed Atlanta because fools like you have screamed at people like them long enough and loud enough that it’s just easier to only have villains who are of a non-specific white ethnic origin.

Don’t believe me? Why don’t you read some reviews of the video game “Left 4 Dead 2”. Here, I’ll save you the effort. On July 14th of 2009, Willie Jefferson, of the Houston Chronicle wrote:
“One of the games that comes to mind is “Left 4 Dead 2.” Though the game isn’t out yet, it’s already causing an uproar. Set in New Orleans, players will have to fight their way through hordes of zombies – with several of them who appear to be African-Americans. When I saw the first trailer for the game, all I could think about was Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath. Setting the game in a city that was scene of dead, bloated bodies floating by so soon afterward was a bad call, IMHO. The city has had enough to deal with — Valve, you should have spared them, even if it’s just a video game.”

That’s from an article titled “Racism in video games: The new norm?” So please tell me. Which is racist, NOT showing black zombies, or showing black zombies? I guess the answer is clearly “both”, everything is racist and should never happen again.
