We Can Hope

In talking about the advertising battle between Hillary! and Trump, Don Surber says something we might actually see.

What scandal can Clinton use to dissuade his voters from crawling over broken glass and going to the polls this fall? … He gave money to a crooked politician? Yes,…

I can actually see our Minitrue betters, including most of Foxnews (O’Reilly will have to be fair and balanced and say it’s likely) jumping on that.

They might even go all in, it’ll look like a huge win for team Golden Cow.

But, as Surber says

He gave money to a crooked politician? Yes,and her name is Clinton.

Trump will respond with pictures of the Clintons at his weddings and other events, hugging him. He’ll say he bought both of them because that’s how he had to do business, but he’s unbuyable, unlike his esteemed opponent in the upcomin’.

We can only hope. The funny is just not as funny as we need. Although the idea that the revolution inside and outside the DNC is not being televised is sorta funny. You know all the Dem front groups are used to having the media pay much more attention to them.

Every now and then I realize I’m actually rooting for Donald fucking Trump to be POTUS.

We are through the looking glass here folks.

Yeah, I am kinda rooting for Trump now as well. Just to see the splodey heads. It’s going to make Bush Derangement Syndrome look like a mild head cold.

  2. Imadenier says:

I guess Trump didn’t realize that Democrats don’t stay bought…

if true, they could both end up in prison?

  3. HayZeus says:

Dunno if you’ve been getting fake Val-u-Rite or something, Veeshir, but from where I’m sitting my fendy is feeling finely balanced like a great cocktail.I mean, the talking point for the email dump is that big mean Russia did it because they want ‘Murica to vote Trump? Oh, do please go on! 😀 In fact, we’re now on the cusp of peak fendy. We’re at the point where strange attacks by young males of unfathomable motivation are almost a daily occurrence, here at home racial tensions are running high, Russia may actually succeed in kicking Turkey out from under NATO (which, frankly, would be a yuge strategic issue if we actually gave a damn), China is flipping the bird to the vaunted International Community™, Wikileaks says they’ve got a lot more leaking to do and there’s three months until election day. What’s not to love?

    • veeshir says:

It’s hard to argue with that.
Watching them explain how Trump is committing treason for wanting Russia to publish those totally innocuous emails has been darn funny.

I will admit I’m still harboring a hope that Obama will prosecute Hillary! so we’ll get a M’Shell candidacy.
Watching the IRS say they’re going to investigate her gave me a little chubby.

    • veeshir says:

That’s how you can tell he’s a real Republican, he’s better than the alternative.

The thing about where we are is that nobody is going to be able to turn things around, only reality can do that anymore.
And it’s going to be ugly.

  4. The Neon Madman says:

For me, it is a no-brainer. Barring some heaven-sent miracle, either Hillary or Trump will be Potus. Therefore I will vote for Trump. I may not contribute, canvas or otherwise support him, but I will definitely vote for Trump, because it is the only thing I can do to keep Hillary out of the White House.

This is the point that the #NeverTrump brigade won’t acknowledge. Standing on principles, abstaining from voting, voting third party all sounds good but in the end the only actual, active act you can take against Hillary is to vote for Trump. Yes, the choices suck, but they are the only choices.

I will vote for Trump because I am against Hillary. Simple as that.

  5. guy says:

Meh, as far as I’m concerned Trump has already provided his most useful service – showing just how deeply in bed with the left a large part of the so-called ‘right-wing’ is.

I’ll probably bother to vote this time, but it’s not in anticipation of Trump actually accomplishing anything. Doing any of the things he’s promising would require the buy in of the vast federal bureaucracy. And that’s not going to happen.

Unless Trump has an actual army behind him allowing him to gut 90% of the Federal Government – without falling prey to some fatal ‘accident’ first – he’s dead in the water.

  6. Imadenier says:

I liked that red Mao shirt Hillary (Big Sister) was wearing at the convention…
