There has to be a reason for them calling the UNSC otherwise they’d just rhetorically bitch-slap Obama in public and make loud noises.

Obama does like to fight both sides of any war.
Now, I trust our military a lot more than I trust Obama or even the Russians, so I would be utterly unsurprised if they made the whole thing up (The Russians, not Obama, he doesn’t care enough about Syria to talk about it anymore.) just to engineer a crisis.
Now, what sort of crisis needs a UN Security Council meeting?

The permanent 5 are China, France, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, and the United States, so we have one ally there and one ‘ally’ who’s boned every ally they’ve ever had and two enemies.

Angola (probably not much help or hindrance)
Egypt (oh yay!)
Japan (ally Obama’s pissed off)
Malaysia (Not too thrilled with fighters of islamic terrorism)
New Zealand (not too thrilled with warmongers, like the US for instance)
Senegal (former French colony, which usually means ‘current French colony they pretended to give up’, not sure what they’ll say but who cares?)
Spain (Ran away from terrorism long ago, they ain’t rocking no boats)
Ukraine (already on the hit list of Russia, so they have nothing to lose)
Uruguay (generally friendly with us, recognizes “Palestine” as a nation, friendly with Venezuela so anybody’s guess. Of course, with our Smirt Duhplomacy crew On The Job!!!! they’re probably not going to be any help even if they could be any help)

So we have Japan on our side, Ukraine probably, but Obama’s pissed them both off so they’re not sticking their necks out for us, some that will help Russia in a confrontation with most not really mattering much.

Team Murderous Dictator has been busy what with Tsar Putin I’s visit to Ukraine to pep-talk his military there, the Norks throwing rockets and nukes around, China stepping up the tempo in the South China Sea, with help from Russia, Iranian proxy getting read in the Golan Heights to attack Israel .
