So where are we?

Not in a good place.

The State Religion has taken over in California.

The Democrat Attorney General Xavier Becerra of California has invented a new crime: Performing Undercover Video Journalism While Not a Democrat.

Of course, he didn’t call it that. Nor did his predecessor, now U.S. Senator Kamala Harris,(emphasis me V) when she launched an investigation of the undercover video operation to expose alleged fetal body part sales by Planned Parenthood.

That investigation resulted in 15 felony charges that were just announced, as we covered the other day, California’s AG Charges Undercover Reporters Who Exposed Planned Parenthood Baby Part Selling.

For the most part, the mainstream media that uses similar undercover video tactics — which is how 60 Minutes made its name…

Some news outlets, like the LA Times and the Wall Street Journal are covering it, and Mother Jones, but nobody else seems to be very interested in this example of  using the state to go after social enemies (not political).

The NY Times ‘covers’ the story.

Like this defense of Planned Parenthood/explaining away any stupid implications that 15 felonies was a problem.

They claimed to have gathered evidence that abortion providers and others were selling tissue from aborted fetuses for profit, which is illegal, but subsequent investigations failed to find evidence of that.

You know, except they did. The de rigeur, “Deceptively Edited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Critics said Mr. Daleiden and Ms. Merritt, who were working for the Center for Medical Progress, an anti-abortion group that was previously obscure, had deceptively edited the videos and misrepresented what they showed.

You don’t need to see the vids, you see, they were deceptively edited! So when the PP person said, “We’re going to sell you body parts.” it obviously does not prove they were going to sell body parts. So there.

Are there first amendment concerns?

The defendants have said they were acting as journalists, but even if a court accepts that argument, it may not matter in this case.

They’re not journalists! Journalists can do things others can’t. It says so right there in the commerce cl…first amendment!

Eavesdropping laws apply to journalists, too. And while the activists may claim a right of free speech or free press to publish the videos, the charges are about collection, not publication.

When 60 Minutes is arrested for the same thing, I look forward to the same response.

Sorry, we all know 60 Minutes peeps will not fall afoul of the law because they only go after the left’s enemies and the NY Times would freak the fuck out if whoever’s on 60 Minutes these days were actually arrested.

A federal appeals court on Wednesday barred the release of videos made by an anti-abortion group whose leaders are facing felony charges in California accusing them of recording people without permission in violation of state law.

They don’t have a problem with that.

“There’s no denying that the smear campaign launched by the defendants has put abortion providers at risk, and we are grateful that the Ninth Circuit affirmed our preliminary injunction,” said Vicki Saporta, National Abortion Federation president and CEO.

We needed a quote from the National Abortion Federation president and CEO to explain that this was wrong!

Oh, and there’s a National Abortion Federation. With a president and CEO. That’s sorta horrific.

I didn’t know this, but it’s fucking funny.

Daleiden and Merritt had been indicted in Texas, but all of the charges were dropped as prosecutors said a grand jury had overstepped its authority. The grand jury had been convened to investigate Planned Parenthood, but after finding no wrongdoing it indicted Daleiden and Merritt instead.

Okay then.  These people selling pieces of dead babies are okay but the ones showing it are enemies of the state.

I was going to look at other news “agencies” but really, at this point what difference does it make? They’re not going to cover this. It’s a regional issue and not for national consumption.

Tillerson, dealing in the world of international oil dealings, probably likes the Kurds more than anybody else he’s had to deal with so I doubt Turkey’s problems with someone they’d like to Armenian are going to affect him all that much.

A senior congressional official with direct knowledge said Flynn’s lawyer was told it was “wildly preliminary” and that immunity was “not on the table” at the moment. A second source said the committee communicated that it is “not receptive” to Flynn’s request “at this time.”

I usually try to ignore what’s “going to happen”, but this feels right.

CNN has been non-stop Flynn for months, this gives our fine media betters a chance to continue their attacks on Trump. The We’re Better And Smarter Than You Party is not going to give up that club easily.

 

More Russia.

Obama administration officials were so concerned about what would happen to key classified documents related to the Russia probe once President Trump took office that they created a list of document serial numbers to give to senior members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, a former Obama official told NBC News.

The official said that after the list of documents related to the probe into Russian interference in the U.S. election was created in early January, he hand-carried it to the committee members. The numbers themselves were not classified, said the official.

You see, it was so important that they didn’t start any investigations, they just planted bombs to keep Trump fighting this dishonest idiocy instead of presidentin’.

Obama and his media tools were screeching about Russia long before January, but they compiled this just in time for the change of admin.

That’s the part of the dystopian fantasy where you think, “The author has run out of ideas.” They’re worried about sexually harassing a phone. No, they’re worred about sexually harassing a fucking telephone.

Russian Trolls Buzzfeed And You Won’t Believe How!

Buzzfeed is trying to get the lawsuit dismissed, and plaintiffs Aleksej Gubarev, XBT Holdings S.A., and Webzilla, Inc. filed a hilariously titled opposition to Buzzfeed’s motion. In a clear troll job, the court filing is titled, “SIX WAYS BUZZFEED HAS MISLED THE COURT (NUMBER TWO WILL AMAZE YOU) … AND A PICTURE OF A KITTEN.”

This was funny, but now it’s not.

A poll published by CBS News on Wednesday found 40 percent of respondents believe Russia interfered with the election to help President Trump win.

Just 13 percent of Republicans believe Russia meddled in the election, while 67 percent of Democrats said Moscow interfered.

Our fine media betters have been spending so much time on pushing this lie that it’s gone beyond pathetic and funny to dangerous.

 

This was sorta funny when they had Farfour the Mouse killed by some damn, dirty Jews, but it’s not funny that the UN agrees with them.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) and Hamas wish to continue teaching children that the conflict with Israel is not over a two-state solution, but the “liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea,” which means the annihilation of Israel. The goal is for the students to believe that Israel is one big settlement that has no place in the Middle East.
Along with Hamas, Abbas and his PA plan to continue inculcating Palestinian children with the idea that they should look to terrorists who kill Jews as their role models. It might be illuminating if the conversation between Trump and Abbas were to be informed by these uncomfortable facts.

Farfour was funny, terrorists were so afraid of Disney they had Jews kill off their Mickey Mouse copy. Now they’re just demanding the right to kill Jews as EUnuchs and UNiks are saying, “Jews don’t want a two-state solution!”

 

The possibilities on this one are endless.

Let’s start with this bit of countering the revolution. This quote is from a former Obama apparatchick.

Because I had a fear that somehow that information would disappear with the senior [Obama] people who left; so it would be hidden away in the bureaucracy, um, that the Trump folks – if they found out HOW we knew what we knew about their, the Trump staff, dealing with Russians – that they would try to compromise those sources and methods; meaning we no longer have access to that intelligence.

So I became very worried because not enough was coming out into the open and I knew that there was more.  We have very good intelligence on Russia; so then I had talked to some of my former colleagues and I knew that they were also trying to help get information to [Democrat politicians].

She got so comfortable, it was just like sitting at home and telling all her moonbat friends about how they broke the law to Get Trump!!!!!.

So Obama helped Dem pols get the info to hurt his successor and, as per her comment, they still have access to the their intelligence.

So many felonies, so little brains.

Neighbors are calling for an investigation after a northwest side man was shot in his home by ICE agents.

Felix Torres, 53, was shot in the arm by Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents around 6:20 a.m. Monday. The agents were attempting to arrest a different person who lived in the home, and said someone pointed a weapon at them.

Just a law-abiding immigrant, looking to make a better life for him and his family.

Not only were guns found, neighbors revealed to authorities that one of the people in the house is suspected of being involved in a different neighborhood shooting just a short time ago. So not only are democrats supporting the open disobedience of Federal Law and the near-shooting of Federal authorities, they are doing this to protect known shooters in the neighborhood that are driving the homicide rate.

So this law-abiding criminal had evil, illegal guns too.

Why is it that lefties have spend all their gun-grabbing time trying to take my guns and appear unconcerned about these illegal guns in a criminal’s hand?

There’s not a lot Trump can do that will disappoint me, I’ve been expecting him to go all Northeast Liberal on us. On Monday, behind closed doors and without his typical fanfare, Trump signed Congress’s repeal of Obama’s Fair Pay, Safe Workplaces executive order that would have mandated that companies with substantial federal contracts be required to disclose past violations of federal labor laws—such as wage and hour laws and workplace safety standards.

The EPA orders have been full of win, but that’s awesome too. It’s one of the executive orders Obama signed on the way out the door, it was so important that he waited 8 years to do it.

I saw a bunch of links that claimed it was a union-giveaway, which makes sense considering that Obama loves to screw America to help unions.

Speaking of which, Charles Krauthammer has revealed himself, over the Obama years, to be just another member in good standing of the We’re Better And Smarter Than You Party.

but Krauthammer has a carefully, and well-deserved, reputation for being smart rather than ideologically correct and must know better. Here’s what he said (I transcribed the segment myself from a replay of the program)

When Mitch McConnell promised to repeal Obamacare “root and branch,” Meadows (Freedom Caucus leader) actually thought that he meant … well … root and branch.

And when Mr. Meadows read the fifth sentence of Speaker Paul Ryan’s “Better Way to Fix Health Care,” which declared, “Obamacare must be fully repealed so we can start over and take a new approach,” well, he though it meant full repeal, starting over, and a new approach.

Meadows, along with a few of his compatriots, didn’t seem to get the memo: that this was all a joke. Who do they think they are? Amelia Bedelia? Doesn’t he know they only meant to repeal the funding mechanism of Obamacare to make it more insolvent?

 

With just a slightly lighter touch, it would be the type of satire that’s best, the type where you can’t tell if it’s really satire or for reals.

I read almost the same article a couple of times over the weekend and they were serious. Like this one from yesterday about how The Conservatives Made A Mistake!!!!!! for expecting GOP officials to do what they’ve been specifically elected to do.

A ban on selling iPhone 6 and 6 Plus phones in China got overturned after a Chinese court ruled in favor of Apple in a design patent dispute.

Last May, a Beijing patent regulator ordered Apple and a local retailer Zoomflight to stop selling the iPhones after China-based Baili claimed they infringed on the patented design of its 100c smartphone.

The Beijing Intellectual Property Court on Friday overturned the ban, saying the regulator didn’t follow due procedures. It also said there wasn’t sufficient proof to claim the designs infringed on Baili’s patents, noting that people could easily tell the iPhone 6 and the 100C apart.

Get that? Some commie chinese company  stole (I figure V) Apple’s intellectual property and then sued to keep Apple from competing with them.

But the part that this article ignores (probably because the ‘journalist’ is lazy, stupid, biased and ignorant like the rest of the breed), is that this was a shakedown.

Chinese courts aren’t like ours. Sure, they have judges and benches and shit, but their verdicts are what their commie masters tell them. This was just a way to get some money of out of Apple.

And that makes me laugh. I hope they keep doing that shit to Apple until Apple is forced to give up all the $billions they’ve invested in their slave-labor factories. Fuck em.

 

I see this sort of stuff and I just fundamentally disagree.

The film he was referring to was Stanley Kubrick’s touching First World War drama Paths of Glory, in which the master tells the story of a group of French soldiers court-martialed for cowardice during the trench war with the Germans, and their moral commander who decides to defend them in court. Paths of Glory came out in 1957, was released exactly on Christmas, and managed to cover the cost of its production, but not achieve any significant financial gain. This comes to no surprise given the themes it chose to explore and the obstacles it faced in its initial run. The film’s obvious anti-military subtext…

Okay, I have to wonder if anybody’s using this utterly creepy, unwieldy thing.

This new wearable device is supposed to make meeting people easier. Called Ripple, the device was designed by students at the Royal College of Arts in London.

Using two built-in cameras, the device monitors the environment around you, sending you a signal when someone’s gaze lingers on you. Check it out, it’s freaking bizarre. A girl wears this framework with tentacles hanging off it (is it racist that they use a Japanese-looking girl for their tentacle thing?). If someone looks at her the cameras pick it up and the tentacles slap around the girl to let her know the direction. If she looks they start waving more, if they keep staring at each other, they get more agitated.

So… Some Trump supporters just started attacking peaceful people?

The anti-Trump protester, dressed in all black and wearing a mask, attacked an organizer of the event, Jennifer Sterling, and other members of the march with the irritant, causing a group of marchers to tackle the masked man, punching and kicking him.

 

Ahh, so the anti-Trump folks were “mostly peaceful” Anti-fa blackshirts who got their asses so deservedly kicked.

Indeed, as long as insurance companies are required to cover pre-existing conditions, government healthcare is with us, and the bill would not have changed that.

At least you’re admitting, even as you try to deny it, that the GOP was not keeping their campaign promise of getting rid of Obamacare. This would have been worse than no bill.

And there was no off-the-shelf Trump legislation that Congress could begin on immediately.

You know, except reintroducing one of the previous 10 Obamacare repeal bills, building a wall, making Hillary Clinton ambassador to Libya…

The congressional priorities are Obamacare repeal and tax reform, both of which could easily have been the first-year agenda items of the aforementioned hypothetical Presidents Bush, Rubio, or Cruz.

Okay, that’s funny. Sure Republicans have been talking about that, but they’ve been studiously avoiding it.

And what huge issue is good old Rich avoiding? Do a ctrl-F and try to find “illegal” or even “immigration” and you’ll find that Rich did not discuss this issue that was front and center in Trump’s campaign. You might also call it his signature issue.

He came down from Flagstaff to spend the afternoon in Mesa. We ate at a place called Blue Adobe in Mesa. It was okay, but not ‘authentic Mexican”. I’d call it California-Mexican. I’d rather eat at Filiberto’s. It tastes better and costs about 1/5 as much.

But as to saying of Mark Levin that he started the “evidence-free idea that President Barack Obama ordered the wiretapping of now-President Trump” Levin did no such thing. What he did do, as detailed here, was make it vividly clear — using mainstream media stories including the Post and others — that in fact the Obama administration had been conducting surveillance of Trump and/or Trump campaign associates. That is a fact. Asked directly in a Fox interview whether Obama personally ordered the surveillance, Mark relied that he was not “Nostradamus” — but emphatically made it clear that the mainstream media reporting on surveillance of Trump had clearly cited information drawn from some sort of Obama administration surveillance known to the intelligence community.

Moderate GOPer in the House is against Ryancare! Why? you ask? You shouldn’t have asked. Really.

That’s the endgame the Dems had in mind when they shoved that debacle up our cloacae. And here we are. With the GOP agreeing we need the benevolent .gov to run every aspect of our lives.
