The December meeting was previously known about because Flynn was forced out of his job as a result of meeting with Kislyak. The Post’s headline doesn’t even say, “Allegedly”, they report it definitely but throughout their article says, “according to US officials who had been briefed on intelligence reports” and “according to intercepts of Russian communications that were reviewed by US officials“. They also quote people “familiar with the matter” who are sure they’re going to investigate this!

The whole Post article is full of innuendo and assertions by unnamed officials and that Examiner article doesn’t even make that clear. Isn’t that libel? Don’t they have to write, “allegedly” or something? If we were in the universe where important lefties were treated like the hoi polloi I mean. Obviously not in this one.

The incident involving Kushner sends the administration further into controversy as it attempts to explain why Trump would have needed a secret channel to Russia.

It should send the Wash Post further into controversy as it attempts to explain why it keeps using anonymous officials as the sole sources in supposed hard news articles.

The FISA court called it a “very serious Fourth Amendment issue” that NSA analysts — in violation of a 2011 rule change prohibiting officials from searching Americans’ information without a warrant — “had been conducting such queries in violation of that prohibition, with much greater frequency than had been previously disclosed to the Court.”

A number of those searches were made from the White House, and included private citizens working for the Trump campaign, some of whose identities were leaked to the media. The revelations earned a stern rebuke from the ACLU and from civil-liberties champion Sen. Rand Paul.

We also learned this week that Obama intelligence officials really had no good reason attaching a summary of a dossier on Trump to a highly classified Russia briefing they gave to Obama just weeks before Trump took office.

Under congressional questioning Tuesday, Obama’s CIA chief John Brennan said the dossier did not “in any way” factor into the agency’s assessment that Russia interfered in the election. Why not? Because as Obama intel czar James Clapper earlier testified, “We could not corroborate the sourcing.”…

In so doing, Brennan virtually guaranteed that it would be leaked, which it promptly was.

In short, Brennan politicized raw intelligence. In fact, he politicized the entire CIA.

We didn’t really learn the bolded part this week, it just became impossible to ignore.

Also, notice the lack of anonymous sources. That’s how you can tell it’s shoddy journalism.

It’s funny that the opinion pages of the Post are noticing reality as the “Hard News!!!!!” sections are all in on Fake News!

Little has been made public by Capitol Police on what exactly is being investigated; news reports in recent months have linked Awan, several of his relatives, and his wife to some type of Capitol Hill investigation that could involve stolen property and more.
