There are a number of physical constants that we use to make sure we’re in the real universe, stuff like speed of light and the electric constant, other people use different baselines.
Like California.
They promised that gas taxes would only be used for Infrastructure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! projects. Needless to say, they lied.
Sac Dems already breaking promise to fix our roads with massive gas tax increase by diverting those dollars to non-transportation items!
So…they’re going broke in a big way, what with spending ridiculous amounts on ridiculous things (like bike paths below the dam they’re ignoring), so what do CA pols do?
A California Senate committee tasked with reviewing bills that spend state money passed a $400 billion universal health care proposal Thursday with no funding plan.
That’s right! Vote for a huge, new, $multi-hundred-billion entitlement! And since they claim it’s $400 billion, you know the price tag is actually at least $trillion.
That’s just a committee, but I figure there has to be a 60/40 chance they’ll approve it. As someone, Mark Steyn?, wrote about Gov Moonbeam, they don’t have policies, they have dreams.
And their dreams are really dystopian. As they’re busy making legal guns illegal,
Thursday, in a move that absolutely defies the slightest semblance of logic, the Democrat controlled California State Senate passed a measure that will lower the sentences for felons who used a gun in the commission of their crimes.
Legal gun owners don’t vote for them, so this is just servicing a constituency!
Someone is noticing the color of the sky in the left’s universe is commie-red.
Liberal Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz said Thursday that the FBI scrutiny of Jared Kusher “raises great concerns about civil liberties.” Mr. Dershowitz said the Russia probe was “being done backwards” and likened it to Stalin’s secret police.
“Usually, you can point to a statute and say, ‘We’re investigating crime under this statute,’” Dershowitz told Anderson Cooper on CNN. “What Mueller seems to be doing is saying: ‘We don’t like what happened. Maybe there was some collaboration. But I can’t figure out what statute was being violated.’
Yeah, you’re not the only one confused about what exactly the We’re Better And Smarter Than You Party is trying to claim he did, we know the real crime is going against what they want.
I do love this.
“When Hillary Clinton was being investigated, at least we knew what the statute was.”
Her actions were a textbook example of breaking them too, but she’s Coming Out Of The Woods To Join The Resistance and Flynn is a horrible traitor.
Speaking of anonymous liars, more Wash Post! That link is to the Wash Examiner who’s busy passing on anonymous lies without noting they’re anonymous. Or letting us know they’re probably lies. The Wash Post lies a lot you know.
White House senior adviser Jared Kushner spoke with Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak about creating a secret and secure communications channel between President Trump’s transition team and Moscow, according to a report published Friday evening
The duo had discussed using Russian diplomatic facilities in America to keep their talks out of the public eye where U.S. intelligence officials would be able to pick up the private chats, the Washington Post reported.
No, they didn’t “report”, they passed along something some anonymous source told them.
Here’s the “innuendo, changing history and introducing lies” part of the report!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A former senior intelligence official said the FBI would have been aware if a White House official regularly visited the embassy and would have found the activity suspicious even if they did not know the topic of conversation. (innuendo based on nothing, V)
Mike Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, also attended the meeting (more innuendo, Flynn the Arch-Traitor was there!!!!!!! V). The December meeting was previously known about because Flynn was forced out of his job as a result of meeting with Kislyak. However, until Friday, it was not known that Kushner had also attended the meeting and made this offer. (that’s the “changing history to lie part V)
Lying liars who lie!
The Post’s headline doesn’t even say, “Allegedly”, they report it definitely but throughout their article says, “according to US officials who had been briefed on intelligence reports” and “according to intercepts of Russian communications that were reviewed by US officials“. They also quote people “familiar with the matter” who are sure they’re going to investigate this!
The whole Post article is full of innuendo and assertions by unnamed officials and that Examiner article doesn’t even make that clear. Isn’t that libel? Don’t they have to write, “allegedly” or something? If we were in the universe where important lefties were treated like the hoi polloi I mean. Obviously not in this one.
I do love this bit.
The incident involving Kushner sends the administration further into controversy as it attempts to explain why Trump would have needed a secret channel to Russia.
It should send the Wash Post further into controversy as it attempts to explain why it keeps using anonymous officials as the sole sources in supposed hard news articles.
But they have a voterariate to put in their place!
Get Trump!
News We All Knew! Obama is the one who actually tried to Hack The Election!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The FISA court called it a “very serious Fourth Amendment issue” that NSA analysts — in violation of a 2011 rule change prohibiting officials from searching Americans’ information without a warrant — “had been conducting such queries in violation of that prohibition, with much greater frequency than had been previously disclosed to the Court.”
A number of those searches were made from the White House, and included private citizens working for the Trump campaign, some of whose identities were leaked to the media. The revelations earned a stern rebuke from the ACLU and from civil-liberties champion Sen. Rand Paul.
We also learned this week that Obama intelligence officials really had no good reason attaching a summary of a dossier on Trump to a highly classified Russia briefing they gave to Obama just weeks before Trump took office.
Under congressional questioning Tuesday, Obama’s CIA chief John Brennan said the dossier did not “in any way” factor into the agency’s assessment that Russia interfered in the election. Why not? Because as Obama intel czar James Clapper earlier testified, “We could not corroborate the sourcing.”…
In so doing, Brennan virtually guaranteed that it would be leaked, which it promptly was.
In short, Brennan politicized raw intelligence. In fact, he politicized the entire CIA.
We didn’t really learn the bolded part this week, it just became impossible to ignore.
Also, notice the lack of anonymous sources. That’s how you can tell it’s shoddy journalism.
It’s funny that the opinion pages of the Post are noticing reality as the “Hard News!!!!!” sections are all in on Fake News!
Speaking of a lack of anonymous sources, Dem perfidy!
Little has been made public by Capitol Police on what exactly is being investigated; news reports in recent months have linked Awan, several of his relatives, and his wife to some type of Capitol Hill investigation that could involve stolen property and more.
The new scrutiny came after a budget hearing on May 18 with U.S. Capitol Police Chief Matthew Verderosa; the hearing before a House Appropriations subcommittee had escaped notice, until reports earlier this week by the Daily Caller, noting the sharp words that Wasserman Schultz had for Verderosa.
But some anonymous dude saw a classified memo that talks about secret intercepts of conversations where Russians spies were talking about former US officials who were discussing a leaked transcript of an cable of a Russian official’s phone-call to a former official who was.. where was I? Oh yeah, Trump told Putin he was going to put the US on the Ruble-standard!
In the wake of that somewhat jarring verbal exchange, a reporter on Thursday asked House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi about the Awan investigation.
“I’m really not familiar with what you’re talking about,” Pelosi said.
“We’ve been busy with a lot of other things,” Pelosi added.
Yeah, she’s been busy foaming at the mouth until lies about Trump come out.
U.S. Capitol Police have released little information about what this probe involves, and who exactly is being investigated.
I wonder if they’re trying to leak but “journalists” keep hanging up on them. That’s the way to bet.
Recall the two brothers arrested in Minnesota with guns, bomb-making stuff and a hand-grenade. They picked the wrong week for Islamic dudes to be caught with that stuff, the Backlash Against The Muslims is out in full force!!!!!!!!
Abdullah Alrifahe had recently been released from jail after serving time for a weapons conviction. He is now facing a single felony weapons charge.
His brother, Majid, has been released from jail and is facing a low-level misdemeanor charges, including disorderly conduct.
You didn’t believe that bit about the backlash, did you?
Let’s lie!
However, criminal defense attorney Joe Tamburino, who is not affiliated with the case, says prosecutors are doing what they can.
Dude, they had a hand-grenade. A fucking hand-grenade. Did they have a permit? The one brother was a felon, he had a hand-grenade. And guns.
If that’s the state of the law, I really need to move to Minnesota, I want to drive around with hand-grenades and bomb-making shit and be left alone! I’m stuck in that gun-and-explosive-fearing state of Arizona! I wish we had lenient hand-grenade and gun laws here like in Minnesota!
They claim “more charges could be coming!”, but recall the time somebody blew up a building in Minnesota and nobody seemed interested in why or how, so basically expect them to sit in jail for a week or two until the heat dies down and be released.
What’s the sign of a civilization on its last legs? When fighting back is bad.
British aircrew wrote ‘Love from Manchester’ on a missile set to target ISIL in Syria, it’s been confirmed…
“The words written on the bomb are an unpleasant example of everything that’s wrong with our current approach to foreign policy and our penchant for funding chaotic conflicts that further destabilise countries and create the conditions ideal for extremism to flourish. It is the very embodiment of ‘an eye for an eye’, which we all know leaves the whole world blind.”
There will always be an Akbar Britain!
Immense progress made in noticing the terrorist networks veining Akbar Britain!
British police say they have made ‘immense’ progress in the investigation into the Manchester Arena bombing. A 44-year-old man is the latest to be arrested, taking the total number currently in custody to nine. A further two people were released without charge earlier in the week.
Authorities say they’ve detained a “large part of the network” being sought, but warn more arrests are likely…
Update to yesterday’s post talking about Hillary not appearing to realize she was describing Bill when she was trying to bash Trump, I thought her hat looked weird but I missed the obvious, and I’m embarrassed about that.
She wouldn’t know introspection if it texted her a picture of its weiner.
I always thought kangaroos were assholes, but I keep seeing stuff that makes them look a lot less assholish.
Or is it that Aussie birds are the real assholes?
The sad look makes it for me. He looks like Kago after a little dog takes his bone.
Maryland’s Democrats to the same …
Money from the gas tax, vehicle sales tax and vehicle registration fees flow into the trust fund. Over the past decade, billions have been taken out of the trust fund for other programs to help balance the budget…
so what will the do to replace that money?
The gas tax has increased from 23.5 cents per gallon before 2013 to 32.10 cents per gallon according to the office of the Comptroller of Maryland.
Maryland is one of six states scheduled to increase gas taxes July 1 to help pay for transportation projects, according to the Citizens for Tax Justice and Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy.
Tolls from the NYS Thruway will never be used for anything but paying off the construction and it will be toll-free by 1980!
The funny part was the surprise in 1980 when they didn’t tear down the toll booths. Of course, the tolls were going to end a few years later.
that happened aroun Richmond VA… built in 1958, the bond was paid off in January 1975, that sweet toll money kept rolling in… the toll booths were removed in 1992…
I’m impressed, and very surprised, they stopped taking tolls.
I recall VA GOP pols claim they were going to stop the ‘personal property tax’, tax on your vehicles and trailers, registered or not.
I remember that from many elections from 2000 to 2010. I stopped believing them around ’04 or so.
They still collect it, don’t they?
it’s still being collected … maybe at a lower rate… maryland realestate tax rate doubled in 2008 and hasn’t gone down, despite the recent price rise…
i figured you’d live in tax free nevada rather than arizona…
Listen, it was bad enough John McCain kept winning, I don’t think I could have handled having Harry Reid as my senator.
Plus, I don’t trust them on guns. If they’ll vote for Harry Reid, they’ll allow all manner of despicabilities.
Believe it or not, that actually got started in the 90s–it was one of the things Jim Gilmore campaigned on. As much as I’d like to bag on Virginia’s Republicans (who are by and large clones of their US counterparts) the Dems were actually in power and did actually pass a bill that would “phase out” the car tax by way of Richmond repaying the localities the $$$ they would have received from the personal property tax. Then came the dotcom bubble pop and 9/11 and falling revenues and then Mark Warner. So we still pay every year, just not as much as we would have paid.
For bonus fendy, the guy that stopped the killing of the car tax handily defeated the guy that signed the law to kill the car tax in 2008. Just in case you weren’t sure that Virginia hasn’t yet become as blue as Levi’s denim.
there’s a “for a US senate seat” missing at the end of that quote.
I wonder about that. Did the state GOP do that to take a revenue stream from the Dems in Richmond?
i think someone sued because the authorising legislation said tolls were to pay for the original bond… after court decisions and appeals the toll booths came down…
Aaahhhhh, a simpler time.
When the rule of law constrained our betters.
NY hasn’t seen that since the Brits kicked the Dutch out.
They still have a temporary tax to defray the cost of the French and Indian War.
That is NOT a Kangaroo.
What is it? I figured it was a baby.
