There are some funny things going on as people keep clinging to willful ignorances even as reality attempts to reassert itself.

What in the world is Debbie Wasserman Schultz thinking?

What is she thinking? She’s thinking that the Dept of “Justice” will continue providing cover for the felonious behavior of Democrats as they’ve been doing for a long time now.

They discuss all the things minitrue and the Dems are trying to ignore about how bad a security breach Dem operatives presided over.

The hypocrisy of Democrats is stunning.

Their unwillingness to help law enforcement is even more so.

Ahhh, but the unwillingness of ‘law enforcement’ to ignore Dem felonyizing is anything but stunning, it’s so commonplace as to be banal.

The former DNC chairwoman’s behavior is not only disturbing, it is unbecoming of a member of Congress who was entrusted with great responsibilities. By knowingly permitting the IT provider to remain employed and place our national security at risk, Wasserman Schultz’s actions border on criminally negligent.

For that, the punishment against her must be swift.

So what’s their preferred “punishment”?

Fortunately, Congress has the process of censure at their disposal. Censure is a formal and public reprimand of a member “whose actions run counter to the group’s acceptable standards for individual behavior.” Wasserman Schultz’s actions certainly fit that description.

So…. throwing fish at us to get us to slap our fins together, arf and honk our squeezy bulbs.

Recall Charlie Rangel was “censured” for his felonies, how’d that work out?

Censure is a lot more relaxing than you’d think.

 

Willful Ignorance!

A story in Newsweek says the bulk of Chinese trade with North Korea involves just ten Chinese companies. The working assumption is that those ten companies are so “connected” and powerful that even the Chinese government can’t influence them, or might not want to try.

Fair enough. That makes the government of China common observers in this drama. Embarrassing for them.

It’s a commie country, that means that “connected” companies are tools of the State. The murderous commie dictators of China are not “embarrassed”, they’re laughing their asses off at stupid westerners who seem to think that this is anything but what the murderous commie dictators want to do.

Can we go to war with 10 companies? Idiocy. Pure and simple. That’s like being confused that even though the PLO talks peace they keep sending their children at Israelis strapped with remote-detonated ‘suicide’ belts.

An Idea Whose Time Has Come!

This is how President Trump makes “The House of Cards” collapse. This is how President Trump ends Obamacare once and for all.

Executive Order #1: President Trump should issue an immediate Executive Order forcing every member of Congress to use the same healthcare plan as the rest of us. Let Senator McCain come off his high horse and live under the rules of Obamacare. Make every member of Congress live by same rules as the rest of us…

Except I’d include a provision that McCain has to go to the VA in Phoenix for his healthcare.

President Trump should issue an immediate Executive Order demanding disclosure of all financial interests and ownership in healthcare related companies or stock by every member of Congress- including all family members and offshore accounts. Failure to disclose will result in a long prison term.

Bwahahahhahahahhahahhahahhahahhaa. Beautiful, naive as the Dept. of “Justice” would be uninterested, but that’s Failure Theater I could get behind. It would further pull back the curtain.

The effect would be awesome. We’d see the politically connected suddenly be treated like the lumpen proletariat so they’d have to do something real instead of just symbolic. We’d see all our betters freak out and explain why Trump is a doody-head for making them live as they force us to and it would cement Trump’s popularity with the people who should matter, voters, but who don’t.

We’d also see the hilarity of minitrue freaking as they explain to Teh Peepul why Obamacare is so good for us and so bad for Important People!.

I do disagree with this.

P.S. Throw in a third plank. Term Limits. Limit each member of Congress to two terms. One term in office and one term in prison.

That should be in the Constitution. I blame James Madison for that.

For those who haven’t been to the US side of Niagara Falls, there’s a reason people go to the Canadian side for vacation.

Niagara Falls State Park was packed with visitors around 4 p.m. Saturday when the foul-smelling, black discharge came billowing out into the Niagara River within sight of the base of the American Falls, alarming city businesses and tourists as it engulfed the shoreline from the Rainbow Bridge to the Maid of the Mist boat dock…

I’d like to complain about something, why didn’t anybody tell me about CNN politics twitter feed? It’s the height of ridiculousness and even funnier than Iowahawks twitter feed.

Whenever I see a story about newsrooms cutting staff I laugh. Fuck them. They abused their position, if they want to be house organs for putative dictators they can move to Russia, Cuba or Venezuela. They’re already lying for China so moving there would be redundant.

An even better question would be, “Can the GOP be saved if Trump wins?” as we spend the next 4 years with them calling their base a bunch of assholes instead of trying to figure out why the people who used to vote for them and send them money are telling them to fuck off.

I’m still not sure, the GOP is doing everything they can to piss on and piss off their voters so the jury is still out. Forming a new party would be tough but if the GOP continues to be unresponsive and rudely dismissive of its voters it might be necessary.  2018 and 2020 are going to be interesting.

 

This is what happens when a gov’t decides its voters are a bunch of assholes who need to shut up.

There is no conceivable way a majority or even a plurality of Venezuelan people would vote in favor of chaining themselves into the slavery and misery of a Cuba-style tyrannical dictatorship. So the only only option available left for Cuba’s puppet dictatorship in Venezuela is to force it through by using the only tactics they know: Violent repression and murder.

Hillary was their best chance for that last part, her enemies have a bad habit of committing suicide after all.

They’d love to do that here, that’s why they keep trying to take our guns. And that’s why we have them. Just ask Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and George Washington.

In Eastern Europe War News, totally not Russian military!

Russia is prudently escalating the situation in Donbas, while trying to remain publicly beyond the conflict. Volodymyr Groysman spoke about the country’s overhaul by his government. I seriously can’t decide if I want to get into a war with Russia in the Middle East or in eastern Europe.

On the one hand, in the Middle East we have only one true ally, Israel, with one sorta ally, Jordan, so fighting there would be tough as we would have to fight everybody except the Kurds while in the eastern Europe we’d have former SSRs on our side.

But in the Middle East Russia would have to deal with ‘allies’ who would turn on them at the drop of a kefiya so they’d be embroiled with fighting their ‘allies’ almost as much as they’d have to fight us.

Add in nuclear war between Iran and Pakistan-supplied Saudi Arabia and Russia would be almost as fucked as we would be.

I have to wonder if Mattis could make it look as though were going to get involved and then turn around and point and laugh as Russia fights all the people they just got done arming. Iran is nobody’s puppet, Tsar Putin I is all about installing tsarlings. While Assad in Syria is a puppet-dictator, the mad mullahs are a lot of things, but tsarlings they ain’t. They’re used to installing shahs to be under the Shahinshah. That would lead to a different, three-sided war between Iran, Turkey and Russia.

A recent academic conference on advanced manufacturing techniques was interrupted for an hour-long workshop on microaggressions.

Louisiana State University hosted its second annual Consortium for Innovation in Manufacturing and Materials (CIMM) RII Symposium on July 24, but some attendees who showed up expecting to learn about advances in engineering were surprised to find themselves instead “dealing with snowflakes and trigger warnings.”…

The post included a screenshot of the Symposium’s agenda confirming that a “workshop/panel discussion” on “implicit bias, stereotypes, microinsults, microaggressions, [and] Title IX” took place immediately before the conference broke for lunch.

Hell, I’d have them try to add fractions or try to figure out the third side of a right-triangle given two sides and all three angles. That would be hilarious enough. Yesterday, I reviewed the new movie, Dunkirk.  Reader mrgarabaldi pointed out that there has been a kerfuffle due to the relative lack of non-white and/or female characters.  Well, I’ve done a bit of digging, and found out that Mr. Nolan had to cut out a lot of content to make the movie fit into his allotted length…

If you’re looking for African-American characters, have no fear.  Nolan used black actors for all of the German aircrews.  The bomber crews, of course, were female.
The u-boat captain, whose deleted scenes run to almost three hours, is a woman of south Asian and Filipino heritage.  You’ll know her by the black swastika embedded in her ruby nose ring.

I don’t like Trump very much but he’s surely exposed a lot that our betters would prefer be hidden.

Who’s avoiding whom?

Embattled Democratic Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz has avoided facing any media since her law enforcement arrested her former IT staffer Imran Awan Tuesday on bank fraud charges.

“Embattled”? Buh? Shouldn’t that read, “Ignored” or “Uninteresting“?

As a student in STEM (engineering/math section), I saw affirmative action in action with them doing everything they could to get girls to graduate. In my school there were maybe 5 or 6 women in the program, only one deserved to be there (a hot red-head but she was on a different schedule from me so we didn’t take classes together, sonomobatch!), the rest were affirmative action types who, if they were men, would not have been accepted. How do you take a woman in your calculus and engineering classes seriously who doesn’t understand algebra? No, really. I was in Calc II with a girl who had no idea that if A=B and B=C then C=A. She obviously did not understand philosophy (logic) either. Except for the hot redhead, they all failed out fairly quickly. Because they didn’t belong there. I’m not saying wymyns don’t belong in STEM, I’m saying stop affirmative action to pretend wymyns who don’t belong there do.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) gave out more than three million dollars to fight “implicit bias,” “microaggressions,” and “lack of diversity” in STEM fields this July.

A Swedish council has admitted that local libraries have been throwing out copies of a popular children’s book because it contains racist expressions, with one local journalist even claiming the books are being burnt.
Older versions of the Pippi Langstrumpf [Pippi Longstocking] book entitled ‘Pippi in the South Seas,’ have been discarded by libraries in the Botkyrka municipality.

The Botkyrka council has denied claims by Swedish investigative journalist Janne Josefsson that libraries are specifically targeting Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Langstrumpf books, explaining that getting rid of books is a necessary process ‘in order for the space in the shelves to be sufficient.’

They stated that they get rid of books which are ‘worn out,’ ‘outdated’ or ‘have not been borrowed for a long time,’ but admitted to disposing of the Pippi Langstrumpf copies due to ‘racist’ content and replacing them with newer editions without the ‘racial’ phrases.

And he is right. An Olive Garden spokesperson told Gizmodo that allofgarden.com “was flagged through automated means and the letter was generated.” The company has since reviewed the complaint and determined that no action was necessary.

Bullshit. It’s ridiculous to think they would automatically generate letters like that. It’s ridiculous to think that large a corporation would allow a computer program to send legal letters to people without a person reviewing it.

I figure that after the publicity they realized how ridiculous it was and are lying to save face.

If they do allow a computer program to send legal letters out, well that would make it more ridiculous and oh so stupid.

After a heartbreaking injury during his latest deployment, heroic military working dog Sgt. Fluffy has been given a service lance corporal to help him through daily life.

Spokesmen for Headquarters Marine Corps told reporters that since Lance Cpl. Michael Johanssen was transitioning out of active service and was no longer needed, they were ecstatic to have the opportunity to hand him off to Fluffy. They believe his presence will help the former working dog cope with the stresses of civilian life and assuage his problems with post-traumatic stress disorder.

I’ve read his 4 book Castle Federation series and it’s very good. I’d say the series is pretty close to a Flint or Weber series.

I found him in the middle of finding a bunch of really bad authors so I wasn’t sure if I remembered liking him.

When I got a Kindle Fire I didn’t download his books but I started thinking I liked him so I downloaded the 4 books and I’m reading it again. He has other books so I’ll be getting those pretty soon.

It’s weird out there, usually I can spot a theme each day but today I can’t, not sure if it’s me or if it’s just that things are so all over the place.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie signed legislation Friday requiring the state to give guidance to public schools about policies for transgender students, including blocking the schools from forcing the students from using bathrooms that conflict with their gender identities.

I’m sure HS students are mature enough to treat this with the respect and decorum it deserves.

I look forward to Dress Thursday where the football players all wear dresses to use the girl’s bathroom and locker room every Thursday and it will be a hate-crime if anybody tries to stop them.

I’m surprised that’s in NJ, sure they’re solidly Democrat but I figured that was more a corruption thing than a lefty thing. It’s funny that the GOP governor signed that into law. He’s a perfect northeast Republican in the mold of Susan Collins (R-Maine) and John McCain (R-DC).

Which reinforces Harvey’s point that we’re the RINOs, not them.

I think I’m actually the RINO.

I say that because I’m finding more and more that the Republicans aren’t the conservatives. Being a conservative and aligning yourself with a Republican doesn’t make Republicans conservative. It just means you’re aligning with the least liberal, least horrible of the viable options.

I don’t really want to take up the label “RINO” because of what it has represented. But, the reality is, the Republican Party isn’t a bunch of conservatives. But, a bunch of conservatives vote for the Republicans.

I’m not surprised about Minnesota though.

A recently approved Minnesota Department of Education “toolkit” instructs schools to isolate students who are concerned about sharing bathrooms and locker rooms with transgender students.

I used to tutor HS kids in math because AZ students had to pass the AIMS test. It was HS math, heavy on algebra and geometry.

They canceled it because so many kids could not graduate HS because they couldn’t pass it. It was depressing trying to teach kids how to do math when they used their fingers to add 5 to 17 and a calculator to multiply 10*7.

In today’s exciting episode, CA has gone AZ one better.

The chancellor of the California community college system has stated that institutions’ algebra requirements are “the biggest barrier” for “underemployed or unemployed Americans,” and as such is … a civil rights issue.

So you can have a college degree without algebra. Sigh. I’m sure that’ll make people happy to hire CA graduates.

It’s not a civil rights issue, it’s a community issue. Too many communities in our nation do not prize education. It’s absolutely not a “discrimination” deal or else Jewish people would have the same problems.

This is the shit that will get Trump’s supporters pissed off.
