A Swedish council has admitted that local libraries have been throwing out copies of a popular children’s book because it contains racist expressions, with one local journalist even claiming the books are being burnt.
Older versions of the Pippi Langstrumpf [Pippi Longstocking] book entitled ‘Pippi in the South Seas,’ have been discarded by libraries in the Botkyrka municipality.

This is my favorite part.

The Botkyrka council has denied claims by Swedish investigative journalist Janne Josefsson that libraries are specifically targeting Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Langstrumpf books, explaining that getting rid of books is a necessary process ‘in order for the space in the shelves to be sufficient.’

They stated that they get rid of books which are ‘worn out,’ ‘outdated’ or ‘have not been borrowed for a long time,’ but admitted to disposing of the Pippi Langstrumpf copies due to ‘racist’ content and replacing them with newer editions without the ‘racial’ phrases.

Now whataya got to say?

 

There was a shootout between a guy with a pistol and a guy with a shotgun in a golf course parking lot. Nobody was hit. Illegal gun owners don’t get to the range that often. But that’s not what’s ridiculous.

When I was in the Patent Office someone tried to patent an offender database for cops, I used SCMODs as prior art. Made me laugh it did.

A West Virginia woman who is challenging Sen. Joe Manchin (D.) in the state’s Democratic primary criticized him for only focusing on the needs of the state’s voters when gearing up for re-election.

West Virginia is home to roughly 400 Robert Byrd bridges, Robert Byrd Airport that services hundreds, Robert Byrd Highway Overpasses, Robert Byrd Hospitals and more and  this fool thinks West Virginians are upset their elected officials are worried about West Virginia?

I’m sure she’ll do well, she’s obviously running to represent The World!!!!! in Congress. Unless she’s a stalking horse, “My esteemed opponent in the upcoming is too focused on your problems!”

 

It’s pretty ridiculous expecting the GOP to do what they’ve promised to do for the last few elections.

Yup.

Too bad they don’t want to win those issues. Pay Attention!

In Italy, their gov’t is as concerned about their constituents as ours is!

As Italy is torn from inside about what to do with the constant influx of migrants coming from the Mediterranean, the small Italian city of Salsomaggiore decided to host newcomers rather than Miss Italia. Without economic revival and enthusiasm from tourists, hoteliers now rely on the 34 euros a day they are getting for accomodating migrants.

I’m sure they’ll really respect those free hotel rooms too!

 

The ridiculous thing about this is that you know it won’t be enforced against a particular segment of their communities.

Amsterdam, the largest city in the Netherlands and once a mecca for those interested in pot and prostitution, is in the process of criminalizing men approaching women. Though the Netherlands has enjoyed a reputation as a liberal country sans the SJW extremism of Scandinavia, this might be about to change.

The new laws in Amsterdam are aimed at male actions that “frighten” women, according to one of the lawmakers responsible. This kind of highly subjective test, in an age where women write 2,000 word diatribes on “manspreading” on public transportation, is ripe for abuse and overuse.

You know, the segment that’s making Sweden so Feminist Friendly! (now with extra rapine!)

Sure it only got jobs for 17 people but how many bureaucrats does it employ? That was the point.

 

This is so ridiculous I’m surprised I haven’t seen it as a joke.

 

I call bullshit on this.

But last week, it almost seemed like Olive Garden wasn’t feeling the love. Parent company Darden Corporation emailed Malone on July 19, claiming his use of “Olive Garden” as metatags or keywords on allofgarden.cominfringed its intellectual property rights—possibly making visitors think his blog was affiliated with the restaurant chain….

And he is right. An Olive Garden spokesperson told Gizmodo that allofgarden.com “was flagged through automated means and the letter was generated.” The company has since reviewed the complaint and determined that no action was necessary.

Bullshit. It’s ridiculous to think they would automatically generate letters like that. It’s ridiculous to think that large a corporation would allow a computer program to send legal letters to people without a person reviewing it.

I figure that after the publicity they realized how ridiculous it was and are lying to save face.

If they do allow a computer program to send legal letters out, well that would make it more ridiculous and oh so stupid.

 

This is ridiculous bullshit!

After a heartbreaking injury during his latest deployment, heroic military working dog Sgt. Fluffy has been given a service lance corporal to help him through daily life.

Spokesmen for Headquarters Marine Corps told reporters that since Lance Cpl. Michael Johanssen was transitioning out of active service and was no longer needed, they were ecstatic to have the opportunity to hand him off to Fluffy. They believe his presence will help the former working dog cope with the stresses of civilian life and assuage his problems with post-traumatic stress disorder.

I figure it’s just so he can take his human on airplanes and buses. You know it’s illegal to ask for proof he’s a service human anymore,  that system is just ripe for abuse.

Forgot a Kindle author the other day and I feel I should make that up,

Glynn Stewart.

I’ve read his 4 book Castle Federation series and it’s very good. I’d say the series is pretty close to a Flint or Weber series.

I found him in the middle of finding a bunch of really bad authors so I wasn’t sure if I remembered liking him.

When I got a Kindle Fire I didn’t download his books but I started thinking I liked him so I downloaded the 4 books and I’m reading it again. He has other books so I’ll be getting those pretty soon.
