There’s a little girl who walks her dogs in the morning right by my trailer, there’s a grass area and a dog park across the street. If I’m sitting outside with Kago her dogs come over to say hi to Kago as they go by. He likes them, he sniffs butts with the 3 year old and smacks the puppy in the face when he tries to play. Then the puppy goes to his water bowl and assaults the water, the older one drinks, Kago drinks, and off they go. We would chat about nothing as the dogs did their thing.
One day I was wearing an NRA hat and met her and her pasty-faced, sunken chested, soul-patched boyfriend, they’re probably around 30 or a little younger. I hadn’t seen her in the two weeks since. I was wondering if I had been shunned. Yesterday I took Kago for his afternoon constitutional and as he was sniffing in the dog park, with the gate open, I noticed her two dogs running over. She came over sorta reluctantly. We chatted. She’s been trying to walk one of the dogs off the leash, today he ran over to sniff Kago’s butt, she came over with the puppy. I wonder if I was shunned but since we’re right by the grass area, she has to go near my house and her dog doesn’t realize we’re the wrong sort of people. I hope so. Wrecking Safe Spaces is a public service. Or…I’m just being too paranoid. I do that you know.
Let’s see me being not too paranoid!
I was watching the local news this morning when they had a press conference with Sen Blumenthal (D-WBASTY) where he was innuendoing and lying about Mueller’s fishing expedition, Trump and Russia. I wasn’t sure why it was newsworthy, had they passed the coup-law about how Trump can’t fire Mueller, so I looked.
Blumenthal was on CNN Monday morning discussing Mueller’s investigation shortly before Trump began tweeting – though, unlike last time, Trump didn’t refer to Blumenthal as “Richie.”
Instead, he called him a “phony Vietnam con artist.”
It was a case of industrial strength butt-hurt. Trump noticed something funny.
Interesting to watch Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut talking about hoax Russian collusion when he was a phony Vietnam con artist!
Never in U.S.history has anyone lied or defrauded voters like Senator Richard Blumenthal. He told stories about his Vietnam battles and….
…conquests, how brave he was, and it was all a lie. He cried like a baby and begged for forgiveness like a child. Now he judges collusion?
Now, I can’t be expected to keep track of every lie by every senator, I’m full up watching the whole GOP figure out how to keep lying to me, so I checked to see if Trump was going overboard.
“You know, all I can say is I regret it,” said Blumenthal, sitting jacketless on a folding chair in his Hartford campaign office. “I take full responsibility. And I am truly sorry to anyone who was hurt or offended or confused.”
Perhaps, but it needed to be noticed. All he regrets is getting caught. He Takes Full Responsibility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but since there were no consequences, I’m not sure what taking responsibility meant. I mean, if he apologized and resigned, that would be one thing, but notice the “sorry if you’re butthurt” ‘apology’.
Notice also the Clinton playbook
He declined to detail what he and his staff did to check the public record before defiantly asserting the next day at a nationally televised press conference at a VFW, surrounded by supportive veterans, that his misstatements were rare and inadvertent, nothing more than mistakes. Days later, he apologized.
“I’m just not going to talk about it at this point, you know,” Blumenthal said. “I think I have asked and answered the questions that matter.”
Lie, when caught claim it was an honest error and then claim all the questions have been answered and let’s move on to The People’s Business!.
So once again, I’m probably in the minority in liking that Trump is fucking hard with the We’re Better And Smarter Than You set.
This is just ignorant.
A high-profile member of the UN Commission of Inquiry on Syria says she is quitting because a lack of political backing from the organisation’s Security Council has made the job impossible…
“I have no power as long as the Security Council does nothing. We are powerless, there is no justice for Syria.”
A UN Tribunal is not intended to actually bring anybody to justice, it’s designed to keep UNiks employed while Doing Something!!!!!!, jeez, how did she get that job if she didn’t understand that? I figured those gigs cost some sweet kickbacks that the commissioner would have to work hard to make up. Huh.
Don’t Forget People! Primary Season Is Just Around The Corner!
With a dysfunctional Congress on recess, House Speaker Paul Ryan has turned his focus back home, touring flood-damaged areas and visiting local businesses in Wisconsin. But he can’t escape the questions about why Republicans in charge of Washington aren’t delivering.
I have to wonder if electing Dems in the House wouldn’t be better.
For 2 years Congress does not a fucking thing but investigate Trump and the gov’t gets shut down every other week. We won’t be rid of Obamacare or reduce the deficit or any of that shit, but 2 years of Congress not doing a fucking thing is hard to argue against and the GOP isn’t doing what they’re supposed to do anyway.
Wishful thinking from the AP
And though he’s won re-election easily for years, Ryan faces the prospect of challenges from left and right and an energized Democratic base in next year’s midterm elections.
Sure they’re energized, but they’re energized against Trump and the Dems, especially Bernie’s Bros, The Dems are not delivering anything but anger and lies, hate doesn’t win elections.
The chuckler
new polling numbers show the speaker is less popular among Republicans in Wisconsin than President Donald Trump.
They just don’t realize that they’re supposed to suck it up while Ryan serves his real base, DC.
Via Commonsense and Wonder, while talking about something else this one is about exposing the dragon.
A bowl of ice cream on a hot day in Shanghai gave American Mitchell Weinberg the worst bout of food poisoning he can recall. It also inspired the then-trade consultant to set up Inscatech — a global network of food spies.
In demand by multinational retailers and food producers, Inscatech and its agents scour supply chains around the world hunting for evidence of food industry fraud and malpractice. In the eight years since he founded the New York-based firm, Weinberg, 52, says China continues to be a key growth area for fraudsters as well as those developing technologies trying to counter them.
“Statistically we’re uncovering fraud about 70 percent of the time, but in China it’s very close to 100 percent,” he said. “It’s pervasive, it’s across food groups, and it’s anything you can possibly imagine.”
Chinese communism is crony capitalism except they can ritually murder an apparatchik when they get caught cutting too many corners.
Related, I was thinking the other day about China’s putative problems, they’re going to have excess old folks to take care of.
What comes out of this massive and detailed dossier is a tale of horror in which Mao emerges as one of the greatest mass murderers in history, responsible for the deaths of at least 45 million people between 1958 and 1962. It is not merely the extent of the catastrophe that dwarfs earlier estimates, but also the manner in which many people died: between two and three million victims were tortured to death or summarily killed, often for the slightest infraction. When a boy stole a handful of grain in a Hunan village, local boss Xiong Dechang forced his father to bury him alive. The father died of grief a few days later. The case of Wang Ziyou was reported to the central leadership: one of his ears was chopped off, his legs were tied with iron wire, a ten kilogram stone was dropped on his back and then he was branded with a sizzling tool – punishment for digging up a potato.
Murderous Chinese dictators have always thought of ‘their’ people as disposable.
I could see them raising the rice ration from 1/2 kilo to 3/8 kilo for workers, similarly raise it for pre-work children with none for people not working. Among the serf population I mean, probably not in the cities where media might have to notice.
This way people won’t have enough to spare any for starving grandpa and starving grandma, Walter Duranty’s heirs can collect their Pulitzers and in 5 years the problem is solved and they’re back to an excess of young males with not enough females.
If there’s one thing I know about murderous, Chinese, commie dictators is that they’re murderous and they’ll kill whichever of their people they need to keep things running the way they want. I also know our fine media betters will ignore this. Unless they kill off so many Apple workers that the date of the i Phone 10 is delayed.
So….. useless push-poll or sign that we’re far more boned than we’d hoped?
PBS, Public TV, NPR, the fucking Grauniad?!?!?!?!?!?!! are in the top 10 while the lying liars who anonymously fakenews at CNN and the Post?!?!?!?!!?!? are more trusted than Fox? Infowars more trusted than Breitbart?
Who did they poll? Missouri faculty and students?
Word of the Day: Stabulous!
Didn’t know that Trump had previously referred to Blumenthal as “Richie”. Priceless.
I know it’s Connecticut, but even there I would have thought that voters would have ditched a fraud like Blumenthal. I thought they liked their frauds more nuanced and sophisticated.
Oh, wait…Lowell Weicker…Ok, I give up trying to understand people from Connecticut.
I can’t figure that shit out either.
I would guess that during his campaigns comments and questions about it are deemed Out Of Bounds by our fine media betters.
