What I can’t figure out is how people can worship Hillary Clinton with a religious fervor.

Tuesday’s bombshell Washington Post story that the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has determined North Korea is capable of constructing miniaturized nuclear weapons that could be used as warheads for missiles – possibly ICBMs – left out a crucial fact: DIA actually concluded this in 2013.  The Post also failed to mention that the Obama administration tried to downplay and discredit this report at the time.

That’s my problem with Foxnews, they had to know about this back then, why didn’t Bill O’Reilly or their news folks report this? One O’Reilly opening rant on this could have accomplished something, but they all ignored it. You can’t say, “The Obama admin tried to blah blah  fucking blah blah.”

During an April 11, 2013, House Armed Services Committee hearing, Congressman Doug Lamborn, R-Colo., inadvertently revealed several unclassified sentences from a DIA report that said DIA had determined with “moderate confidence” that North Korea has the capability to make a nuclear weapon small enough to be launched with a ballistic missile.

Our fine media betters knew it. Our fine Congressional betters knew. None of them did shit about it. Of course, Obama did use federal agencies to enforce his will as to what he wanted to be reported, but still…

Not getting reality! Why The GOP Didn’t Repeal And Replace!!! It could have been 11 words, “Because they like the power it gives them over our lives.” but it’s long and full of idiocy.

Back in 2013, when Obamacare’s exchanges went online, and immediately crashed, it was clear that many Republicans were simply not interested in productive health policy improvements. Instead, they viewed the struggles of the health care law strictly as a political cudgel to wield against political opponents.

Now, while I agree with that last statement, WTF is a fucking writer from Reason doing writing “Republicans were not interested in productive health policy improvements”? No, really. WTFF? Why is a Reason writer upset the GOP didn’t help the gov’t take over healthcare or have their own plan for  the gov’t to take over healthcare? WTFF?

These efforts take significant time and energy. Democrats and their allies on the left spent nearly two decades working through ideas and building broad consensus after the failure of President Bill Clinton’s health care plan in the early 1990s

Another idiot who thinks he knows better than Trump how to negotiate and get shit done. He’s not a neophyte, he’s been bribing politicians for decades, I’m pretty sure he knows how to get shit done in DC far better than this lefty writer at Reason.

The failure, then, was party wide. Republicans in Congress weren’t prepared to repeal and replace Obamacare, and may never have intended to.

May never have? In the last week or two we have seen two previous, GOP House majority leaders admit they never meant to do it. May never have? WTFF?

And now Trump is merely continuing the cycle of dysfunction, using the failure of the GOP health care effort to stoke tensions within his own party that are politically convenient for him, but unlikely to advance any policy goals.

And he is accomplishing something else I didn’t realize I’d see, masks are off, battle lines are drawn. All manner of things are becoming clear to even the most obtuse and non-paying-attention. I mean, not Shepard Smith, but you know, intelligent people.

In conclusion, WTF happened to Reason? That has all the in-depth, impartial analysis you’d expect from an Atlantic, Newsweek or Media Matters article, not Reason.

Kristolnacht keeps getting delayed.

Kristol followed up the NYT article with a gem of an idea that conservatives should rebrand themselves as liberals: “Seriously. We’re for liberal democracy, liberal world order, liberal economy, liberal education.”

Okay, that’s funny. That’s what lefties do, keep rebranding things to try to make them more palatable instead of actually working to fix what makes them unpalatable in the first place.

I do applaud the effort, he can call his new party the “We’re Better And Smarter Than You Party”, that’s its raison d’etre.

But in perhaps Kristol’s shadiest move, he is trying to pin the NYT article on Pence although it is highly likely the story idea came from Kristol himself. The two reporters, Jonathan Martin and Alexander Burns, wrote a very similar piece in March 2016 about efforts to derail Trump; Kristol was cited then as having “circulated a memo to a small number of conservative allies detailing the process by which an independent candidate could get on general-election ballots across the country.” The week before the article was published, Burns sub-tweeted Kristol and said “Today is the Super Bowl of Bill Kristol Twitter.” Kristol also helped promote Burns’ book last year about a dysfunctional Trump campaign.

She gets paid to write. Her paycheck is based on the value she creates, in writing columns that people read and appreciate, contributing to subscription and advertising revenues. Her pay is market based, which is the only legitimate way to determine wages.

On many websites I’d think it was someone noticing reality, but I’ve seen too much absolute idiocy in the comments at the Wash Post to be more than 25% sure it’s an intelligent comment. I would bet that comment is meant to defend how much she’s paid while not realizing it could mean minimum wage earners. Which, as we all know, the real minimum wage is 0, which a lot of them are about to make.

There were 1200 comments when I clicked, I only read the first 30 or so, not much hate just a lot of Erudite People discussing this Dispassionately, like the guy with Phd in his name who claimed that there was no economic data to prove that $15/hour minimum wage hurt the economy, I’m sure they get much angrier by about 50 and downright scary long before 500.

Boy, girl, man, and woman are words that describe gender identity, and some people with the gender identities “boy” or “man” have vulvas, and some with the gender identity “girl” or “woman” have penises/testicles. Your genitals don’t make you a boy or a girl.

Most kids want to pretend they’re elves or wizard or something like that, this is nothing but Munchausen by trans-proxy syndrome. It’s always been depressing watching parents shove their delusions on their children, now it’s a Societal Good.

There are no good outcomes in that bullshit. It’s like ADHD, sure some kids have it, but not the 20% that are medicated to get them to sit down and shut up… diagnosed with it. Except this is even worse as, according to adult actions, the actual number is well under 1%.

Of course, abortionists are insane so they are thinking as if abortion doesn’t go far enough, we need retroactive abortion!

Speaking of Crazy Talk!, I’ve been saying that we need to fire everybody in the DO”J” GS-12 and higher and replace them with Free Republic commenters. While it might be awesomely entertaining, I realized how crazy that is.

Judicial Watch announced it sent a notice-of-violation letter to the state of California and 11 of its counties threatening to sue in federal court if it does not clean its voter registration lists as mandated by the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA). Both the NVRA and the federal Help America Vote Act require states to take reasonable steps to maintain accurate voting rolls. The August 1 letter was sent on behalf of several Judicial Watch California supporters and the Election Integrity Project California, Inc.

We should just disband the entire DO”J” and replace them all with Judicial Watch!

I know, that looks like crazy talk!, but bear with me.

 In the letter, it is noted that public records indicate the following counties have more registered voters than voting-age citizens:

  • San Diego (138%)

  • San Francisco (114%)

  • Los Angeles (112%)

  • San Mateo (111%)

  • Solano (111%)

  • Yolo (110%)

  • Santa Cruz (109%)

  • Monterey (104%)

  • Imperial (102%)

  • Lassen (102%)

  • Stanislaus (102%)

In light of that, I’d have a warning about going to NJ where they will illegally take your legally owned guns if you’re legally carrying them while legally travelling through the states.

It’ll then take you years and a lot of money to get your property back from the thugs in NJ. If you’re lucky, your case will cause enough of a stink that Christie will throw you a bone… pardon you. But since he does not spend all his days pardoning people it would just be crazy to even drive through NJ with your legally owned property.

My neighbor in my old apt is a paranoid schizophrenic who is just paranoid with medication. It’s weird, he’s paranoid about all the wrong things but he thinks I’m too paranoid! No really, he does.

Let’s look at that definition of insanity, doing everything the same and expecting a different outcome. In the late 20s we had a problem with debt. We know where that led, in 2008 we had another problem with insane debt dragging us down.

In his first Kentucky appearance since the fake vote on the fake repeal of Obamacare last month, McConnell announced that fellow lying liar Lamar Alexander (R-TN) would be teaming up with Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) to create a bill that will continue using money we don’t have to subsidize insurance we don’t want until 2018.

If Murray’s name sounds familiar, it should. She’s one of the GOP’s favorite “go-to” Democrats when selling out on campaign promises. It was Murray who joined Paul Ryan a few years ago to pass the failed Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013. Despite their promise to cut the budget, Ryan and Murray’s failed budget agreement increased spending, raised taxes, and threw out any attempt to balance the books for two years.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I’m gonna disagree on this.

Today’s teenagers are more sheltered and less independent than previous generations, and the shifts correspond with the mainstreaming of smartphones around 2012. Instead of going out with friends and looking for every chance to get away from their parents, the post-Millennial generation is staying in and Snapchatting—and it’s making them less happy.

My nieces and nephews are all over 20, a couple approaching 30. When visiting my sisters I noticed that their kids did not play the way we did and it was long before they all had smart phones.

They were constantly underfoot, they wouldn’t leave us alone. I remember thinking how weird that was.

When I was a kid I spent most of my time trying to keep adults from knowing what I was doing. I left in the morning and came back for lunch, for dinner and then when it got dark. When we visited my uncles’ and aunts’ houses, I and my cousins immediately disappeared. We had serious trouble to get into, having parents around crimped my style. How could I get blood all over my clothes with them watching?

Adults do the same freaking thing with smartphones, how many of us have seen pics of a family eating dinner out and all of them looking at their smartphones? So that smartphone/unhappy trend is across age lines, hovering around your parents is a totally different, unhealthy (IMO), trend.

State of my Gs.

I turn my tablet to airplane mode when I get done tubing but I left it on one night, all night. A couple days later I was at 75% of my usage. It took more than a week for me to get to 90% usage, so it seems I have enough Gs for a month, so long as I don’t forget to turn it off.

This month I’m going to run out of Gs and be forced to go to 2G or pay extra. I’ll probably pay the extra. 2G sucks. I still have most of my phone’s Gs so I have that going for me, but I’m surely going to run out long before my month starts over.

 

TV without cable.

I’m going to have to go to a bar to watch MNF and if I want to watch the Giants on an out of market deal, but I’m pretty happy.

I have maybe 10 channels I watch and they don’t all have the same commercial schedule. One Spanish language channel shows action movies. I watched The Expendables the other day, you lose not a thing by not understanding what they’re saying. Hell, it probably enhances the experience as the dialogue is mostly stupid.

I watch Grit most. during the afternoon they have Death Valley Days. About every 3rd or 4th show is filmed in Apache Junction. It’s funny, I can often spot where they are. It looks different but that’s mostly because they paved a lot of roads in the last 50 years.

There’s a little girl who walks her dogs in the morning right by my trailer, there’s a grass area and a dog park across the street. If I’m sitting outside with Kago her dogs come over to say hi to Kago as they go by. He likes them, he sniffs butts with the 3 year old and smacks the puppy in the face when he tries to play. Then the puppy goes to his water bowl and assaults the water, the older one drinks, Kago drinks, and off they go. We would chat about nothing as the dogs did their thing.

One day I was wearing an NRA hat and met her and her pasty-faced, sunken chested, soul-patched boyfriend, they’re probably around 30 or a little younger. I hadn’t seen her in the two weeks since. I was wondering if I had been shunned. Yesterday I took Kago for his afternoon constitutional and as he was sniffing in the dog park, with the gate open, I noticed her two dogs running over. She came over sorta reluctantly. We chatted. She’s been trying to walk one of the dogs off the leash, today he ran over to sniff Kago’s butt, she came over with the puppy. I wonder if I was shunned but since we’re right by the grass area, she has to go near my house and her dog doesn’t realize we’re the wrong sort of people. I hope so. Wrecking Safe Spaces is a public service. Or…I’m just being too paranoid. I do that you know.

I was watching the local news this morning when they had a press conference with Sen Blumenthal (D-WBASTY) where he was innuendoing and lying about Mueller’s fishing expedition, Trump and Russia. I wasn’t sure why it was newsworthy, had they passed the coup-law about how Trump can’t fire Mueller, so I looked.

Blumenthal was on CNN Monday morning discussing Mueller’s investigation shortly before Trump began tweeting – though, unlike last time, Trump didn’t refer to Blumenthal as “Richie.”

Instead, he called him a “phony Vietnam con artist.”

It was a case of industrial strength butt-hurt. Trump noticed something funny.

He allowed his communications director falsely to accuse his chief of staff of committing a felony by supposedly leaking a document that was already officially public—and then, after the fallout consumed his administration, dismissed them both.

Is leaking a felony? I mean, when it hurts Trump or a Republican of course. As for “allowing”, he fired the idiot for saying stupid things. They could bash him for hiring that guy,  but for firing him? As for ‘fallout consuming’ something, it was the media who were consumed, cuz they, and the Weekly Standard, have to ignore good things Trump did, but they’re against what he’s doing so…………. CHAOS!!!!!

 He repeatedly attacked his attorney general for his necessary decision to recuse himself from the probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Yeah see, not all of us agree it was “necessary” and most of Trump’s supporters were pissed off at that. But we can be ignored, cuz we’re not smart and they know better.

He gave a highly inappropriate speech to 40,000 boys participating in the Boy Scouts’ 20th National Jamboree—a speech for which the organization felt compelled to apologize.

He’s the only person in the world not allowed to give a political speech at a non-political event. Even though the scouts and their scout masters were into it, the nation organization is a member in good standing of the We’re Better And Smarter Than You Party so they had to do that or be lumped with, HORRORS!!!!!!, Trump-supporters!

 He followed that up with a speech to law enforcement officials in which he suggested it was okay to rough up accused criminals.

Four state Registry of Motor Vehicle clerks along with two other people were arrested Wednesday after authorities say they were making false identifications through the registry and selling them to people living in the country illegally, some of whom had been deported in the past.

Some of those phony licenses and identifications were used to fraudulently register to vote in Boston, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

I’ll grant you this: we didn’t have Buttered Rolls as such in Fargo. We had Rolls, with Butter. Perhaps that’s the difference. But when you went down to coffee in the basement after church, you got some rolls – often the type that split apart into three segments – and you put butter on them. Any holiday dinner, any family meal large enough to require a Relish Tray – rolls, with butter.

Yeah,  they do that in NY too, but nowhere outside NYS and the states around NYC are they laid out in the morning at every place that sells coffee.

Heaps of buttered hard rolls ready to pick up with your coffee att every place that sells coffee, except Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme, they’re right next to the self-service coffee station.

I don’t see that anywhere else in the country. Most places that sell coffee don’t even have hard rolls unless they also sell sandwiches and it often takes far too long to explain that I just want a buttered fucking roll for my fucking coffee.

When I first starting traveling outside NY I used to ask all the time and people would look at me as if I was crazy, now I don’t even bother. Especially since it’s usually in the morning before I’ve had my fucking coffee. I have a low tolerance for people before I’ve had my coffee. Okay, lower tolerance.

I buy lots of french and italian bread and rolls so I make them at home but when I’m driving across the country all I want is a fucking buttered fucking roll and it’s fucking too much to fucking ask.

On the highway back from I heard a bad noise, for a second I thought it was engine related but then realized it sounded like something was dragging. I pulled over and when I stopped, it stopped. I was happy. I left the engine running when I got out.

When I opened the door the noise started again, for just a second I thought, “Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!!!!!!!!! ME!” but it was just the side molding from the door that was dragging.

I can look back in laughter, it wasn’t so funny for a split second.

Anybody who’s ever worked in a restaurant should see the hilarity in this.

Heh. Although my plan when I was driving a taxi was to floor it. Get up to 100+ in my Crown Vic until the cops pulled me over or the guy gave me his gun. That was Plan B, Plan A was a Sig SC250 in .45ACP. It goes BOOM!
