I just cannot keep watching the news. We had months of reports of ‘leaked transcripts of wiretapping” that attempted to harm Trump, which immediately switched to “no proof of wiretapping!” as soon as that could harm Trump.

I’m not interested. At this point, I’m only wondering how the GOP is going to try to explain being feckless assholes who refuse to do anything they’ve been specifically elected to do. Like get the gov’t out of healthcare, secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws.

But since the ‘news’ is out, let’s get some NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heavy on vids and pics.

First, some real news.

Geez, Trump is so fascist and hatist, mere proximity has turned Canada into a bunch of fascist haters!

Nearly half of Canadians want to deport people who are illegally crossing into Canada from the United States, and a similar number disapprove of how Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is handling the influx, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Monday.

I do wonder how they reconcile that stance and their, Trump is a racist hater for wanting the same thing, stance. You know they’re probably mad at America over it, They’re America’s Illegal Aliens!

If you’re going to make fun of Trump, this is how to do it. Zapp Brannigan doing Trump quotes.

Perfect and hilarious. While we’ve never seen them in the same room together, I’ve never seen Trump wear velour. But then, the 70s were sort of a blur and that’s when he would have worn one.

We all have clothes from the 70s we’d like to forget.

Via this dude, we see that erstwhile QB Colin Kapernick had some luck on the free agent market!

We know he can scramble and throw a bomb. I’m not sure how he’d do against America’s defensive line, but I’d like to see!

Relatedly, via the Jawas, we see this bit of hilarity.

Boycott us? No! Boycott You!

Oh, and go fuck yourself. Especially considering the use of “repressive”, just cuz you’re trying to delegitimize their nation doesn’t mean they should be rude!

This Amtrack train came into the station through a snow bank, it’s sorta cool, but notice all the people filming this with their phones. Not a one of them realizes that what they’re filming could affect them in any way until it’s far too late. They’re just swept aside. I wonder how badly they, including our intrepid reporter, were injured.

Situational awareness, it’s not just for buying drugs in shitty neighborhoods you know.

Now, I could understand padded knees, but would someone explain these mom-jeans to me?

No wait, don’t. I’m sure it’s stupid and I’ve learned enough stupid things for the day.

US Women’s Hockey Boycotting Championships Over Equal Pay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven’t actually watched women’s hockey but if it’s as riveting as women’s basketball, I’m gonna assume there’s a reason for the disparity in pay.

Now this story is a perfect example of the problem with journalism today.

Some guy rammed his car into a tree, repeatedly. Here’s the problem.

Headline

Police: Man charged after crashing car into tree repeatedly ‘to prove a point’

Story

A local man is facing charges after police said he repeatedly drove a car into a tree on his property in order to “prove a point” to another resident at the address…

Bailey told officers that he had done so “to try and prove a point”…

he was ramming the car into a tree to prove a point…

Who: Local Man, What: Ram car into tree, Where: Pawcuatuck, When, 3pm for half an hour, How: By driving his car

They got the sensational stuff out of the way, tried to make him look like a dumb redneck, but nowhere do they tell us the important “Why”.

Not once do they mention the point he was trying to prove.

They make a point of telling us 4 times that he was attempting to prove a point, but they don’t mention the point or if he proved it!

Just shoddy journalism. How can we know if the point was worth it?

I also don’t see why the police were involved, he was on his own property destroying his own stuff, that’s none of their business.

But then, everything is now the govt’s business anymore it seems.

Two pretty funny and very stupid articles from Conservative Thinkers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! extraordinaire.

Let’s start with Peggy Noonan, cuz her writing has become so shallow it doesn’t take long to ridicule.

Reach Across the Aisle, Mr. President

When Democrats win elections, Republicans need to reach across the aisle. When Republicans win elections, Republicans need to reach across the aisle. When Trump wins an election in spite of everything people like Peggy Noonan could do, Republicans need to reach across the aisle.

With this Deep Thought!!!!!!!!!!

The priorities should be jobs, growth, social cohesion and an atmosphere, in Washington, of constructiveness.

Well, he appears to be doing okay on jobs and growth in his first two months.

Social cohesion is not a priority for gov’t. Destroying it has been the method our fine political betters have used to gain political power though.

As for ‘constructiveness’ in DC, how about the fucking Democrats try working with someone else? How about that Peggy?

Nope, conservatives need to bend their principles because we’re all disappointing Peggy.

Next up, Rich Lowry, you can tell he’s super conservative cuz he writes at Politico. How The GOP Crack-Up Happens!!!!!

That relationship is awkward and tenuous. It is an uneasy accommodation between a GOP Congress that would find a more natural partner in a President Rubio, Cruz or Bush, and a President Trump who would, presumably, be happier to work with Speaker Dave Brat — the populist congressman from Virginia — than with Speaker Paul Ryan.

Exactly. He’s forced to work with Establishment Pricks who are refusing to reduce any of their power.

This is a product of how the Republican sweep of 2016 was won on separate tracks. Trump tore up many Republican orthodoxies and went out and found a different way to unlock the electoral map, winning in the industrial Midwest. Congressional Republicans more or less stuck with the usual script, kept Trump at arm’s length, and held their majorities in the House and the Senate.

Yeah. They were elected to reverse what the Dems have been doing, most especially in terms of illegal immigration and Obamacare. But Thoughtful Conservatives Everywhere are telling us whoa, it’s not that simple! You can’t just do what the stupid voters want, that way lies madness!

And there was no off-the-shelf Trump legislation that Congress could begin on immediately.

You know, except reintroducing one of the previous 10 Obamacare repeal bills, building a wall, making Hillary Clinton ambassador to Libya…

The congressional priorities are Obamacare repeal and tax reform, both of which could easily have been the first-year agenda items of the aforementioned hypothetical Presidents Bush, Rubio, or Cruz.

Okay, that’s funny. Sure Republicans have been talking about that, but they’ve been studiously avoiding it.

And what huge issue is good old Rich avoiding? Do a ctrl-F and try to find “illegal” or even “immigration” and you’ll find that Rich did not discuss this issue that was front and center in Trump’s campaign. You might also call it his signature issue.

But that is an issue only for racists, like me, Rich likes him some cheap labor. Hey, his garden ain’t gonna garden itself.

Let’s have a little high-larious interlude: Dynasty Fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meghan McCain on Possible Chelsea Clinton Run: ‘What Fresh Hell Am I Living In?’

You’re in the one where Meghan McCain is considered a pundit and is paid to tell people what she ‘thinks’.

Bureaucrats Gone Wild!!!!!!!!!

The Chicago Police Department is investigating one of its officers after he helped three young girls found living in an abandoned home. The officer set up a GoFundMe page for the girls who were known as the Englewood Angels. The police department said the officer violated its policy by helping the girls…

Artz launched the effort (Gofundme) to raise money and supplies for the kids and the grandmother who agreed to take care of them. Dolores Anderson has a roof over her head and, for now, enough food and clothes to help raise her granddaughters who were found living in squalor just a few months ago…

Artz is accused of violating rule 52 which prohibits officers of seeking or soliciting contributions of any kind from anyone. The complaint against him was lodged by CPD Internal Affairs Commander Robert Klimas.

He had a box to check and check it he did!!!!!!

Saving New York From deBlasio!!

That’s the wrong formulation. You need to save NY from New Yorkers. They’re the ones who reelected the fool who spends all his time SJWing and not Mayoring. The guy who took their Big Gulps with extra salt. NYCers are the ones who voted in term limits and then reelected Bloomberg after he decided that there wouldn’t be term limits on him then elected de Commio.

New Zealand is focused, laser-like, on what’s important!

The local Māori tribe of Whanganui in the North Island has fought for the recognition of their river – the third-largest in New Zealand – as an ancestor for 140 years.

On Wednesday, hundreds of tribal representatives wept with joy when their bid to have their kin awarded legal status as a living entity was passed into law.

“The reason we have taken this approach is because we consider the river an ancestor and always have,” said Gerrard Albert, the lead negotiator for the Whanganui iwi [tribe].

Hey, at least they’re not still eating people.

So far as you know.

I would like the answer the most important question about this: Is the river a he or a she?

It’s a river. It’s gender is fluid!

*smack*

Sorry.

First gay cakes and now this!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? What the fuck?

A new business, run by a cake decorator…(was awarded) a Westland District Council project to build a $7 million sewage plant…

Sonomabatch. Can’t you just let them make cakes?

It’s like the Rose Bowl Parade except pornier.

Huge crowds flocked to the western Japanese city of Nagaoka Sunday to take part in a bizarre annual festival that sees women ride through the city streets on a giant wooden penis.

Dozens of newlywed women, some in traditional Japanese dress, sat atop the giant phallus which, according to tradition, brings marital bliss, fertility and good luck during the Hodare Festival held each year.

With an awesome gif that I can’t download or embed. Oh well.

Let’s end on a Decision.

On the one hand, may the force live long and prosper.

On the other hand, that’s an actual girl. No, really. It is.

When I went to NY last year I picked up my friend in Illinois, the ardent Dem. He told me he and his wife were coming to AZ in Feb or March. He showed up yesterday, out of the blue, and we hung out, that’s why I didn’t post. I had a bunch of links too.

He came down from Flagstaff to spend the afternoon in Mesa. We ate at a place called Blue Adobe in Mesa. It was okay, but not ‘authentic Mexican”. I’d call it California-Mexican. I’d rather eat at Filiberto’s. It tastes better and costs about 1/5 as much.

Suspended in my meth brigade.

Well, that’s how I feel reading the ‘news’.

I dispute that my soul is untouched though.

Sometimes CNN just pissed me off.

Washington (CNN) – President Donald Trump plans to dismember government one dollar at a time.

Yeah, but that’s not the plan. He’s just trying to cut some shit not dismember the bloated behemoth. They keep getting my hopes up but I should know better than to trust those fakenewser assholes.

NYS is full of racist assholes!

The (NYS) Board of Regents on Monday eliminated a requirement that aspiring teachers in New York State pass a literacy test to become certified after the test proved controversial because black and Hispanic candidates passed it at significantly lower rates than white candidates.

So what you’re saying is that minorities are too stupid to pass literacy tests? Racist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why not try to recruit competent minorities? I know, that’s so….Republican!

If we didn’t have the Wash Post we would have to invent them to make fun of.

Pro-Trump media sets the agenda with lies. Here’s how traditional media can take it back.

So how are the Utterly Competent And Honest Purveyors Of The Truth at the Wash Post going to Take Back The Truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? By lying of course.

Similarly, the right-wing radio host Mark Levin may have started the evidence-free idea that President Barack Obama ordered the wiretapping of now-President Trump. It made its way quickly through the media ecosystem, after Trump saw it, apparently on Breitbart News…..

Yeah, about that.

But as to saying of Mark Levin that he started the “evidence-free idea that President Barack Obama ordered the wiretapping of now-President Trump” Levin did no such thing. What he did do, as detailed here, was make it vividly clear — using mainstream media stories including the Post and others — that in fact the Obama administration had been conducting surveillance of Trump and/or Trump campaign associates. That is a fact. Asked directly in a Fox interview whether Obama personally ordered the surveillance, Mark relied that he was not “Nostradamus” — but emphatically made it clear that the mainstream media reporting on surveillance of Trump had clearly cited information drawn from some sort of Obama administration surveillance known to the intelligence community.

Fakenewsers gonna fakenews and liars gonna lie.

Moderate GOPer in the House is against Ryancare! Why? you ask? You shouldn’t have asked. Really.

“After studying the impact of this proposed legislation on my district and speaking with many of my constituents, I have decided to vote no on the bill as currently written,” she said in a statement to the Miami Herald. “The bill’s consequences for South Florida are clear: too many of my constituents will lose insurance and there will be less funds to help the poor and elderly with their healthcare.”

So in other words, the terms of the debate are not “Should the gov’t be involved?” to “The gov’t needs to pay for everybody’s healthcare or you’re a racist hater!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

That’s the endgame the Dems had in mind when they shoved that debacle up our cloacae. And here we are. With the GOP agreeing we need the benevolent .gov to run every aspect of our lives.

Fuck.

The Dutch are voting today, updating results here, with an interesting bit.

Yeah, if that’s their main worry, I’d bet they’re voting for Geert Wilders. I’d also bet they’re afraid to say so to any “journalist” because voting for him is a Hate-Crime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 of the first order.

In Tsar Putin I news, poisoned soup!

A Russian whistleblower in Britain may have died after eating poisoned soup, a judge has heard…

Perepilichny had sought refuge in Britain in 2009 and had been providing evidence to the authorities about a Russian money-laundering scheme.

Lawyers at a pre-inquest hearing suggested that he died shortly after eating a sorrel soup which had been infused with a posion based on the gelsemium plant.

Samples from his stomach showed traces of a material likely to be the toxin…

He’s a throwback to the fucking 16th century tsars.

Okay, I can’t decide if this is hilarious, horrific or just another sad, sordid tale of 21st century America where 2016 was not an aberration.

A transgender dad and daughter from Detroit are revealing their incredible journeys as they transition from mom and son.

Mom became Dad and son became daughter.

Seriously, think about trying to explain that to someone in 1950s.

What are we going to do tonight?

Sad? No, just the truth. As an engineer I’m happy people are starting to figure this out.

Into the Aaaaaahhhhhhhh.

Ice box:  that was Kingston last week after a “dusting”. It was below freezing for most of my stay. I saw the blizzard coming and my brother had to go back to work so I switched my flight to yesterday. It was a long day, but it was worth it.

Aaaahhhhhh. That’s what I’m talking ’bout!

There’s a spring behind the laundry building on the right side that sorta ‘leaks from right to left down a wash behind and below that wall. There’s a lot of life around here, it’s like a bird, rabbit and squirrel sanctuary. Except for the hawks, owls and coyotes I guess.

I’m still a little burned out from my travails yesterday, it was a long day, so just a short round.

A little revisionist current events.

Or, some would say, Trump is hurting himself. Either way, there are troubling indications that President Trump is losing his battle with the Democratic Party press.

If it were just Minitrue, he would have a chance. Hell, if it were just the Democratic political/entertainment complex, he would be winning.

But he’s also fighting the GOP,

like McCain going after him for the bullshit Russia Hacked The Election hackassery.

Arizona Sen. John McCain said “there’s a lot of shoes to drop” regarding more information about President Trump and his team’s ties to Russia.

McCain said several aspects related to Trump’s connections with Russia needed more questioning during an interview on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday.

Little Lord Graham

President Donald Trump’s proposed budget is set to hit a brick wall in Congress, where some Republican lawmakers say the proposed cuts to foreign aid are out of the question.
“It’s dead on arrival – It’s not going to happen,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., according to NBC News. “It would be a disaster.”

Paul fucking Ryan

House Speaker Paul Ryan told his Republican colleagues in October that he was cutting ties with Donald Trump, saying he would defend the presidential candidate “not now, not in the future,” according to an audiotape of the call released on Monday by Breitbart.

That was from October, but have we seen anything from Ryan that shows he’s not still of that opinion?

Mitch The Bitch McConnell

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Thursday played down expectations that any tax package can be completed before the August recess, despite Trump administration vows to pursue “historic” legislation soon.

“I think finishing on tax reform will take longer,” the Kentucky Republican said in a Politico Playbook interview. “We do have to finish the health care debate … before we go to taxes.”

Which “health care debate” is all about… you guessed it!

Indeed, the whole GOP establishment is fighting Trump.

The RNC is having a hard time finding Republicans who haven’t roasted Trump.

On Wednesday, the RNC’s Hispanic outreach director, Ruth Guerra, resigned from her post. Two aides told The New York Times that she felt “uncomfortable” working with Donald Trump, who has routinely made racist remarks about Hispanics during his presidential run. The RNC announced that Guerra would be replaced by Helen Aguirre Ferré, who furiously deleted scores of tweets attacking Trump.

“roasted Trump”, as you can see, means, “roast Trump daily”. You know, if you want to be technical. And accurate.

For the record, I typed each of the names with links above before looking for the links, I knew what I would find.

He’s fighting everybody who’s pissed off at We Teh Peepul for deciding to pay attention to the screwing we’re getting from our betters.

They’re relentless. Most of the media is still talking about Flynn for fuck’s sake. And that includes most of Foxnews. I can’t even watch Shep anymore, I just want to smack the ignorant yet oh-so-superior smirk off his face.

Related: CBO declares WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE IF THEY CHANGE A JOT OR TITTLE OF OBAMACARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Congressional Budget Office said Monday that the White House-backed plan to repeal and replace Obamacare would result in an estimated 24 million more uninsured people by 2026.

When I first saw that I thought how funny it is that not forcing people to buy something means fewer people will buy it, then I saw some congresscritter make the same point and Minitrue was On The Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  with help from some helpful Republicans.

“If half of the CBO [report] is true, I think we should slow down,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Monday.

Asked for reaction to the score, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), who is physician, said, “It’s awful.”

“President Trump says he wants as many people covered as under ObamaCare,” he added.

With this howler from that minitrue outlet in good standing, the Hill.

The findings from the nonpartisan CBO

Yeah. Non-partisan. We’ll go with that. It sounds so much better than ‘establishment pricks who hate the concept of America’.

Which howler is followed by another.

The findings from the nonpartisan CBO are significant because both parties have long pointed to the office’s findings when pushing legislation.

And that my friends is all they’re good for. Cuz they certainly aren’t any good at actually predicting shit.

Also related. A puppy blender post.

INDEED: “The implicit standard in analysis of the health insurance system is that every consumer must have government-selected coverage. But why?”

That’s because our fine betters are all saying that’s the standard and the media is happy to push it that way. They’ve moved the debate from “Should the gov’t be involved health care?” to “Of course the gov’t needs to be involved in healthcare, let’s argue about how much freedom we’re going to pretend to give our serfs.”

We no longer have just the Democratic political/entertainment complex pushing that shit, the GOP and much of Foxnews is doing it as well. Which makes it much harder for the idea that the gov’t should not be in charge of every aspect of our lives to be discussed.

It surely can’t be discussed in polite company.

They’re relentless. Much of America is getting sick of it. Which is exactly what our fine betters are hoping.

It reminds me of a young Tard dog learning a valuable lesson when he caught the cat he had chased a few times.

Chasing something is far different from actually catching it.

They’re chasing our complete subjugation and I don’t think they’ll like it if they get much farther along that particular spectrum.

I’m not sure if it’s me or if the world is themeless. I keep starting with one and then having it fall apart. Oh well. See if you can guess the theme I thought I had.

In our wordcloud below is “drunken chariot racing” but the link has absolutely nothing to do with drunken, chariot or racing. Which made me think that wordcloud is judging us! As if we’re the kind of window-lickers who’d be all into drunken chariot racing so it just threw it in.

Then I realized, a good idea is a good idea so here’s part of the chariot race from The Perils of Gwendolyn.

You can’t tell from that clip, but that movie has the highest boobs/frame ratio of any movie I’ve ever seen. If you’re into that sort of thing.

So… what happened to “The First 100 Days” on Foxnews?  It used to be on at 5pm here (7 east coast), but now it’s Tucker Carlson. His first 100 days are not over and that show started in January so it cannot have been 100 days. Every time I flipped over there was Martha and some, acknowledged, Dem operative bashing Trump, so I have to figure the ratings were pretty low because MSNBC and CNN are much sadder and a whole lot funnier.

In the now, apparently Trump is thinking about doing recess appointments to get around the GOP Senate to confirm his appointments.

I’m torn on that one. On the one hand, it’s fucking hilarious he has to do this to get around the slow-rolling of Republicans. On the other hand, that’s a slimy thing that we do not need to have regularized. Which leads us to the gripping hand, Czars! They do not need to be confirmed, I’m not even sure if they’re officially appointed. I think they just show up and start working.

The ‘recess appt’ thing has to be a troll. I prefer the Before! so I’d like a Czar troll.

Having the NYTimesWashPostCNNABCCBSNBCetc. start freaking out about ‘Czars avoiding confirmation are the end of the Republic!!!!!!” so Trump can comment on the 39 Obama sub-Czars wikipedia claims avoided that messy, tax-cheating-finding, confirmation process would be hilarious.

To make sense of this next link, you have to understand Trump  is a recent Republican. He thinks more like a Democrat.

WELL, YES: Trump isn’t really campaigning earlier than other recent presidents. He’s just more upfront about it.

The “permanent campaign” was invented by (or maybe “for”) Bill Clinton a quarter century ago, and for better or worse it’s now a permanent part of our political landscape.

WELL, NO: Bush didn’t campaign constantly. He promoted himself, but he didn’t campaign. He was a breath of maturity in the office that Clinton and Obama did their best to ensmallen.

As for “He’s more upfront about it.”… No. The media is more upfront about attacking him for it. He’s not doing anything different from what Clinton and Obama did. Hell, he’s less upfront than Obama who traveled to fundraisers across the country all the freaking time.

While I’m yelling at Instapundit, this always bothers me. Most of the article linked is pretty accurate.

The basic division in American politics today is not over the merits of President Trump. Many of those who voted for him believed that he lacked the moral grounding and gravitas that great Presidents must ultimately draw on. The division is between those who think that before Trump, things were going just fine and the American elite was doing an excellent job, and those who blame the rise of Trump on the failures and blindness of the so-called “meritocratic elite” who, they would argue, have been running the country into the ground.

No argument from me so far. Here’s where we go off the tracks.

In foreign policy, the United States has had two failed presidencies in a row. Our grand strategy of…democratization of the Middle East would and could solve the terrorism problem—and so did their degreed and esteemed advisers and the commentariat.

We had won in Iraq. We were almost done. As anybody with a brain told Obama, he had to fucking leave some dam Marines, A-10s and Apaches there, similar to how we treated Germany.  That way, ISIS would have been stain in the desert when they were first chased out of Syria in their Toyota pick-ups instead of getting stronger and taking over much of the region.

Now: Israeli soldier gets 18 months in jail for shooting a wounded, Palestinian terrorist. Palis are all upset it’s only 18 months. Apparently, helping suicide attackers suicide is verboten in their religion. You need to let them blow themselves up I guess.

Before: Palestinians have a different view on successful suicide bombers being killed as they open an exhibit of a suicide bombing from the previous month. After an outcry from people who give the PLO money, the Arafish canceled the exhibit. Yes, it was built less than a month later. Too soon?

Doesn’t really fit, but this is another in a very long series. We’re talking Days of our Lives long.

At UCLA Law School last week, a squad of student “thought police” tried to ban my book, Failing to Confront Islamic Totalitarianism: From George W. Bush to Barack Obama and Beyond. They don’t want you to know the book even exists, let alone what’s inside it. And the UCLA administration enabled them. This ominous episode underlines how students are learning to be contemptuous of intellectual freedom.

And since it’s California, they went the extra mile. It happened at

…a panel discussion at UCLA Law School on the vital importance of freedom of speech and the threats to it.

The funniest part is that this State-Sponsored, Law Fucking School does not see the irony of students learning how to be law talking folks at a gov’t-affiliated Law Fucking School stomping on speech they do not like and not being immediately and humiliatingly slapped down by either the faculty or the admin (both?) at the gov’t-run Law Fucking School. More, they think anybody who does see irony is a hating hater who hates.

Yeah, that bothers me a lot. At least some of these people are likely to be future lawyers, politicians and judges.

Our best hope is if all the different flavors of fascist assholes start killing each other before they start trying to kill the rest of us.

Which leads to this.

“The Court finds these allegations sufficient to establish that CNN was acting recklessly with regard to the accuracy of its report, i.e., with ‘actual malice,” the order reads.

That could be really horrible with possibly good results.

CNN begged for it. As did Rolling Stone. As are a bunch of others. Expect a slew of these as precedents are set.

I really don’t like the idea of the US have British-style libel laws. US law is an attempt to fix what the Brits got wrong.

On the other hand, maybe they’ll stop being fucking lying sacks of fucking shit.

I’m really of the opinion that it’s a terrible precedent and I really, really, really wish our fine Minitrue betters did not make it nearly a requirement but since they did, I hope it has a salutary effect. Or should that be “salutatory affect” so people can have something easy to make of me for? Besides constantly ending sentences of prepositions, that is.

These might be a good metaphor for the people who supported Trump and/or people who supported Hillary.

Peep-Flavored Oreos.

That’s right, the neon marshmallow-flavored filling will actually get sandwiched between two golden cookies…

If you’re totally into this concept, you should probably consider dunking them in Peeps-flavored milk…

To some people that’s the most horrible thing in the history of ever. They deserve no mercy on their souls.

Others think, “Hmmmmm, that sounds delicious! I’ll have to try those!”

I’d avoid those people personally. Probably anarchists. Or even worse. Hipsters.

Scientists Need Grant Money To VacationStudy In Mexico!!!!!

The worst of those outbreaks were known as cocoliztli, from the word “pestilence” in the Aztec language Nahuatl.

It’s during one of these cocoliztli, between 1545 and 1550, that up to 80 percentof the native population is believed to have perished…

Now, the Max Planck researchers have presented evidence that the cause of the outbreak could have actually been a primitive and deadly form of salmonella.

The first glaring tell, “up to” and “believed to be…” are codewords for “Yeah, I’m pulling this out of my ass.”

At one point I got really into Aztec history after reading Jennings’ Aztec.  It’s a very good book, as are most of his books, I haven’t read the sequels to Aztec, and it’s also, like all his books, surprisingly well researched and accurate.

That salmonella deal is an interesting idea that seem implausible to me. They list the plagues sweeping the area and the theory I’ve always seen is that it was just a cumulative deal with no real “This is the one!!!!”

I figure they just need some cash and global worming is getting tapped out.

It’s just no good anymore since they went away
Now I spend my time just making posts from yesterday

Topical!

There is no logic. There are no facts. You can say blue, and they will hear white. One plus one equals cat. Calling the left mentally ill is truly a disservice to those who are mentally ill. At least with mental illness there’s a reason for the madness and a hope for a cure. There is no hope for the left. They are suffering from a deep-rooted spiritual sickness, one for which, I’m afraid, there is no cure.

When you compare a United States President to a creature who killed 6 million Jews and 5 million others, what exactly is the starting point for a logical conversation?…

How do you talk to people who use the Holocaust as a prop? The Jews, the disabled, the gays, and those who were different were all exterminated. They have now become a straw man for the spiritually depraved, demonic left. What do you say to people who chant “We are all Muslim” when the Muslim is looking at them, going: “Yes, that is the goal isn’t it, dead or alive?”

Exactly. Trying to intelligently debate someone who compares anybody but Hitler, or maybe Stalin, to Hitler is about useless. Willful ignorance is functionally the same as stupidity and you wouldn’t argue with an idiot as to whether blue tastes better than Cheerios, would you?

H/T Added 20 minutes later!!!!!!

Relatedly,  selectively stupid hate!

He didn’t rape anyone or have an affair with his intern (Bill Clinton), he didn’t kill anyone, (Ted Kennedy), he didn’t smoke crack with some hooker in a seedy motel (Marion Barry), he didn’t text photos of his junk to underage girls (Anthony Weiner), he didn’t sell favors to our enemies (hiLIARy Clinton), he didn’t disrespect our military and throw his medals away (John Kerry), he didn’t have bribe money hidden in his freezer (William Jefferson), he didn’t make fun of Indian (dot head, not woo woo) convenience store clerks (Joe Biden), he didn’t belong to the KKK (Robert Byrd), he didn’t father a child with a 15 year old black woman (Strom Thurmond), he wasn’t caught texting sex message to teenage boys (Mark Foley), or run a gay house of prostitution with his boyfriend (Barney Frank), or try to pick up men in public restrooms (Larry Craig), and those are just from memory, I haven’t even Googled anything yet.

Donald Trump did nothing like any of those other politicians, yet those people are beloved and he is hated.

Yeah but…..compassion!….tolerance!……

This is the money shot

And are we really going to kill each other over politicians? Seriously? Think about that for a moment. Brother against brother, husband versus wife, over people like Mitch McConnell or Elizabeth Warren. OMG…what has happened to us

Yup. If there are people less worth getting rioting-angry about than any of our fine political betters, well, I can’t think of them.

The failure theater I expected is in full gear, fuck the GOP.

Should I get worked up in defense of these assholes?

A group of prominent Republicans and business leaders pitched a tax on carbon dioxide to top White House aides Wednesday, selling the plan as an economic win that could drive job growth and yield environmental dividends too.

Former Secretary of State James Baker and other members of the new “Climate Leadership Council” pressed the case in a 45-minute meeting in the Roosevelt Room that included President Donald Trump’s top economic adviser Gary Cohn, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and senior aide Kellyanne Conway.

Sigh. I can only hope Trump was playing Angry Birds during the presentation and only allowed them in for some sort of pat on the head for the GOP assholes.

Speaking of Failure Theater!

house-of-shut-up

Fuckheads are slow-rolling.

Primary season is just around the corner!

Speaking of fuckhead Republicans and their disdain for their ‘base’, Kristollnacht!

Weekly Standard editor-at-large Bill Kristol said Tuesday afternoon that the white working class should be replaced by immigrants as they have become “decadent, lazy” and “spoiled.”

“Look, to be totally honest, if things are so bad as you say with the white working class, don’t you want to get new Americans in?”

I really do not like the NRO/Weekly Standard assholes. I used to subscribe to NRO, but now I can’t even read Jay Nordlinger.

The best part, for me, is that they went all in on Palin-hate and thought they won but now we have Trump. That has to really piss them off.

Just don’t forget, they’re smarter and better than you!

The demographic most opposed to President Trump is not a racial minority, but a cultural elite.

This isn’t a revolution. The revolutions happened in June and November. Brexit and Trump were revolutions. The protests against them are a reaction by the overthrown establishment.

Yeah see, you were in charge and that’s why we’re so fucked so sit down, shut up and drink your damn appletini.

I read this story at AZ Central (supported Hillary!) about a totally blameless immigrant who’s just trying to make a better life.

For  four years, federal immigration authorities have given Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos a pass to remain in the U.S. rather than deport her back to Mexico.

That changed Wednesday, when Garcia de Rayos went to check in as usual at the central Phoenix offices of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Instead of being released, she was taken into custody, while her husband, two children — both U.S.-born citizens — and a group of supporters watched in tears….

In a statement, ICE officials said only that Garcia de Rayos was detained because of her prior conviction, which stems from a work-site raid almost a decade ago.(that’s a lie as we’ll see shortly V)

And thought, “There’s something they’re not telling me. Why is this totally innocent woman being targeted? Maybe she’s not so innoccent!”, imagine my unsurprise when I saw this.

She was arrested in 2008 during a workplace raid ordered by then-Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio at Golfland Sunsplash amusement park in Mesa, Ariz., and convicted of felony identity theft for possessing false papers.

Oh, convicted of a felony. That’s different. And the AZ Central article also managed to avoid mentioning this

ICE officials confirmed the detention on Wednesday. “Ms. Garcia de Rayos is currently being detained by ICE based on a removal order issued by the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review which became final in May 2013,” the agency said in a news release.

So Trump was POTUS in 2013? Huh. And isn’t that a little different from what AZ Central told us ICE said?

Which leads us to the question Which should be their catchphrase?

Minitrue: Lying Liars Who Lie!

or

Minitrue: Purveyors Of Fake News Since 1895!

They so miss Obama they’re forced to doing Tiger Teen! articles full of stupidities and lies.

“Obama makes rest of us look bad with his effortless kitesurfing”

– The Washington Post, Early Lead, February 7, 6:32 PM

Hahahahahahahahaha. I bet they had to type that one-handed.

These claims are false. As the video reveals Obama fell multiple times off the kiteboard despite “perfect conditions” and practicing for “two days solid” before the challenge.

Hahahahhahahahah. I love this part.

However, Love also admitted Obama is “not the most explosive guy, not the fastest guy,” and he “lacks in physical capabilities.”

Video evidence reveals Obama does not “knock down open shots.” ABC News reported in 2013 that, when playing against children, Obama was “ice cold” after going just 2 for 22 from the floor. The former president had to be shown how to make a layup by a 10 year old.

Hahahahahahahahahaha

Why…it’s almost as if they lie about Obama more than they do about Trump!?!?!?!?

They’re better than you!

Scores of NYPD cops have installed illegal flash-reflecting plastic covers on their personal-vehicle license plates that can thwart toll and traffic cameras

I’m pretty sick of this culture of impunity for our betters.

The Hill has high hopes.

Is Gorsuch a secret liberal? Trump, GOP have reason to wonder.

They lay it out, he lives in and near lefties!!!!!! And look at this!

sided with an Albuquerque middle schooler who was strip-searched by his school, dissenting while his colleagues ruled that the school, police officer and other employees were immune from lawsuits.

Okay, that’s just stupid. That’s not “liberal”, that’s “libertarian”. I understand liberaltarians try to obfuscate the issue, but they are different.

I’d say most lefties were not in favor of being able to sue the gov’t, unless you’re a leftist suing for Social Justice!!!! of course.
Back in 2014, I wrote about an article noting that Sweden was importing many tens of thousands of Syrian “refugees”.

This should end well.

…Sweden. Because the government decided to offer residence permits to every Syrian who requests one, it’s estimated that by the end of 2014 another 80,000 will have come.

Well, not so much end well as make Denmark and Finland laugh their asses off.

So how is it going?

More than 110 blazes ripped through accommodation centres across the Scandinavian nation, according to national police statistics. Of those fires, around 20 are believed to have been caused by carelessness or accident.

However Swedish officials have now said 92 of the infernos were started deliberately, with 37 of them being started by a resident at the home.

In the remaining cases, two culprits have been identified, but 53 of the fires remain unsolved as police have no leads as to who the suspects may be.

Hey! Let’s import a few tens of thousands here! Paul Krugman told us destroying shit is good for the economy!

I wonder if the previous story had anything to do with this.

Drawing on a unique, new Chatham House survey of more than 10,000 people from 10 European states, we can throw new light on what people think about migration from mainly Muslim countries. Our results are striking and sobering. They suggest that public opposition to any further migration from predominantly Muslim states is by no means confined to Trump’s electorate in the US but is fairly widespread.

Wait, you mean that people do not like importing other people who hate them and their whole, westernly-civilized nations? The deuce you say!

It takes an ‘elite’ to be surprised by that.

Speaking of Syrian ‘refugees’, let’s see how that bucket of scorpions is taking being shook up.

The complication is that the advancing forces — the Syrian Army and pro-government militias backed by Russia, and Syrian rebels backed by Turkey — are sworn enemies.

Their simultaneous race to seize the city, Al Bab, has turned into a test of how a global realignment of powers supporting Syria’s antagonists could help reshape or end the nearly six-year-old conflict…

The coming days will show if the Syrian foes, who do not always obey their patrons, will work together for the first time against the Islamic State, or drive out the extremists and then try to kill one another.

Yeah, that’ll work out great. The first question I have is if the “rebels’ will side with ISIS against the gov’t or if they’ll wait until ISIS is driven out before attacking the gov’t forces.

Which leads to the next questions, what’s Tsar Putin I going to do about it? How about Sultan Erdogan? Will Russia and Turkey get into a war?

The feel-good story of the week! Some idiots went to Cuba for their “Dream Wedding!” and found out when they got there that they were having a “Dream Wedding!” in a commie shithole.

A couple of apartheid-loving Brits who planned a lavish wedding in Cuba suffered a gigantic disappointment when the roof of their wedding venue collapsed.

Many were injured, including the bride and groom and their two children.

Needless to say, the Castro regime collected a lot of money from these newlyweds and their 24 guests, but won’t have to pay a shilling in compensation for injuries, trauma, and distress….

They chose to spend $31,287 for a wedding in one of the most repressive and impoverished countries on earth.

(Quick calculation: for a Cuban worker to afford such a wedding he/she would have to work for 105 years and save every penny for that event).

Even worse, they hoped it would be “the wedding of their dreams.”

It was the wedding of my dreams. I wonder if they’ll reevaluate their love of communism. Probably not, it takes real stupidity and willful ignorance to go to fucking Cuba to have a dream wedding.

Carlos asks a question

So… is it wrong to feel good about this couple’s bad luck?

No, it’s one of the things that’s right in the world. Feeling sorry for them would be wrong. They went to a gigantic slave-island. They deserved all the shit they got.

It doesn’t rain but it pours.

Samsung SDI made the news again on Wednesday when one of its plants in China caught fire.

Talk about bad optics. I will say I love my Samsung J-3.  The battery lasts a long time and it works very well.

Just some inside-basketball stuff. Before the basketball season started I watched the Knicks try to build a winner, with good players and I wrote

The schadenfreudey part is that the Knicks spent a lot of money on assholes like Noah but they kept Carmelo Anthony. CarMElo Anthony has Obama level narcissism.

He’s going to be such a whiney “Give me the ball” bitch the Knicks will suck anyway. They had a guy, Jeremy Lin, who came out of nowhere when ‘MElo’ was injured and the fans loved him. So once MElo was back, he forced Lin out.  I’m gonna laugh my ass off as they are screwed this year either by listening to MElo or by the ruckus he’ll cause if they don’t.

So what’s happening? The Knicks suck and are trying to trade ‘Melo but there are no takers and now he’s fighting with the GM.

Hahahahahhahaa. And that’s why I stopped watching basketball long ago. I liked Jordan, I didn’t like Kobe, and now all the ‘stars’ act like Kobe. When he was in trouble for rape one of his teammates said, anonymously, “I don’t believe the accusations, Kobe doesn’t make a pass to anyone!”

Now, if I was a little more superstitious, I’d be celebrating this,

Astronomers and stargazers will be treated to three celestial events on Friday night through Saturday morning.

The trifecta includes a “penumbra” lunar eclipse during the full “snow” moon and a comet flyby!

but all the apocalypse scenarios have been teases I hate to get my hopes up.

Although… the fact that it’s a “penumbra” eclipse, gives me hope.

Penumbras are always used to screw us.

Jurists have used the term “penumbra” as a metaphor for rights implied in the constitution (Commerce Clause! V)

So we have that going for us.

Those loaded questions

Posted: January 22, 2017 by aliceaitch in Funniest End of Civilization Evah, We're boned

We had a patient with dysphasia today, my partner was trying to assess her mental status. He asked her who’s president – which is a loaded question these days anyway – and she was trying to answer but was having difficulty getting the words out. So he asked her what color the President’s skin was. She replied, “orange”.

So, is that a GCS verbal of 5 or 3?
