It’s feast or famine here, I’ve been working 12 hour days and not getting much sleep so that’s my excuse.

Two WTF? stories.

First up, the Japanese are pissed off M’Shell is blowing them off.

Obama will be the first US president to come to Japan on a state visit in 18 years, but never mind: Michelle’s absence has thrown Tokyo into a tizzy.

Seriously?

After Obama told them to fuck off when we were ‘negotiating” with the Norks and sent Smurfette… Carolyne Kennedy as the ambassador this is the line they draw?

Not having to deal with M’Shell would seem like a good thing to me, but then, I’ve never really understood the Japanese all that well.

A worse WTF? for those who don’t read or click Drudge links…

This one has layers. Like an onion or a ogre.

The province’s (British Columbia) Health Ministry said in an email to the B.C. Catholic that “biomedical waste” shipped to the U.S. to be incinerated includes “human tissue, such as surgically removed cancerous tissue, amputated limbs, and fetal tissue.”

“The ministry understands that some is transferred to Oregon. There it is incinerated in a waste-to-energy plant,” the email stated.

But wait, there’s still more!!!!

The ministry said that contractors handling the province’s “biomedical waste” follow “health and safety protocols, as well as federal, provincial, and local regulations.”

So burning pieces of people and dead babies for electricity is following the rules? Seriously?

The funniest part is that some gov’t bureaucratic tool thought that was a good thing to say.

Out: Soylent Green food.

In: Soylent ‘Green’ fuel.

Alternatively, as Charlton Heston would have said in 1973, you can have my electricity when you burn it from my cold-dead-hands.

A Battle Of Wills

Not so much IMPORTANT!!! as Interesting Update below.

The feds want to teach us unhelpful types who’s in charge as we are trying to remind them of the same.

In Texas, Return of the Jedi

Texas officials are raising alarm that the Bureau of Land Management, on the heels of its dust-up with Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, might be eyeing a massive land grab in northern Texas.

The under-the-radar issue has caught the attention of Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, who fired off a letter on Tuesday to BLM Director Neil Kornze saying the agency “appears to be threatening” the private property rights of “hard-working Texans.”

Good for them.  Texas should have known they’d lose respect when they allowed Matt Damon to play a Texas Ranger, now they need to reaffirm that you don’t want to mess with Texas.

While in Nevada, the Empire wants to strike back.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says “something is going to happen” to get Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy to stop letting his cattle graze on federal land.

What a fuckhead. “Something will happen”, huh? Will no one rid him of this turbulent rancher?

He’s fresh off declaring people who disagree with his buddies getting some land as “domestic terrorists“.

I’m not exactly sure what the hell is going on in Nevada except it’s pretty obvious the feds are trying to push hard and Americans are pushing back. Peacefully as Americans are wont to do when they aren’t faced with violence but the feds appear to not be happy about the non-violent stuff. They have all these SWAT teams just sitting there, gotta SWAT someone.

It’s seemed obvious for a quite a while now that Obama and co. are fomenting something so they can come down hard on Tea Party Terrorist types and other average Americans.

I know who I’m rooting for.

The asteroid.

In trying to answer Kalvacade Krew’s question, I came across this link with some interesting questions

It raises quite a few questions.  Is civil disobedience and passive resistance the only way to fight back against the Obama Regime’s tyrannical reflexes?  How many Battles of Bundy Hill can there be before the defenders shoot first, giving the feds the propaganda narrative they so clearly seek?  Or have they learned their lesson about the efficacy of quietly bleeding ranchers dry in lieu of American Tiananmens?  And in the latter case, how can civil disobedience be mounted in such a way as to draw favorable public attention, particularly when the media is an arm of the White House?

Interesting questions all.

Especially the last one. When the media is on the side of the powerful against Teh Peepul, well, Teh Peepul are screwed, blued and tattooed.

And I feel sick. Two stories

First, we have federal agents going all Waco on some people for grazing their cattle where they’ve been grazing them for 130 years.

Longer vid at the link. Click the link if you’re running low on amphetamines to get your heart racing in the morning.

And here we have a Dem mayor not attending the memorial service of a police officer killed over a traffic stop, instead attending the memorial service of the career criminal who did the killing.

For unknown reasons, newly elected, Mayor Dana Outlaw chose to attend Thursday’s funeral of the career criminal.

Adding insult to injury, last night’s planned memorial for local citizens to say “goodbye” to Alexander Thalmann was cancelled by the mayor’s office.

What the fucking fuck?

You might that Mayor Outlaw sas aptly named, but I’d say “Mayor Piece of Shit” was more apt.

Dude signing…

You so know it is.

Republicans should really focus on the IRS tea party targeting scandal and put Benghazi on the back burner. Look, Benghazi should have been a major scandal. But it wasn’t. And to borrow a phrase, what difference – at this point – does it make?

They fucked up and people died. Then they crassly lied about it so they could win an election. Then they lied about lying about it. And not a lot of people really cared. While it is true that they were lying about what precipitated the deaths of several Americans, it’s not like they wanted that to happen. They were just lying after the fact of the colossal, deadly fuck-up.

I don’t mean to dismiss the malfeasance here. Putting on my best Samuel Jackson voice, I hope they burn in hell. News Flash: The Obama administration lies about shit and doesn’t care if people die.

Film at eleven.

Benghazi was mostly incompetence, covered up by lies. The IRS … now there’s something you can sink your teeth into. That is flat out corruption. That is the willful use of the power of the state to stifle the opposition. That’s pretty plainly totalitarian. Lois Lerner could be frog-marched to prison. AWESOME. And this Elijah Cummings angle is pretty promising too.

What are we expecting in the Benghazi investigation? To find out that Susan Rice lied? OF COURSE SHE FUCKING LIED! And water is wet, and bears shit in the woods.

On the other hand, folks going to fucking jail? Sign me up for that.

VeeDub? Not in this house!

Nein!

VW is apparently working with the UAW trying to toss out the failed UAW certification vote and trying to use authorization cards to ratfuck their way to unionizing the VW plant in Tennessee.  Obviously, it’s well known VW’s board is made up heavily of IG Metall’s union, but I really don’t think the German unions fully get what they’re actually getting when they join forces with the UAW.   I can tell you I’ll never own a VW, I’d never own a VW anyway, just based on their sketchy reliability of the recent past...er, present, but the UAW shenanigans makes me go from no to OH NO FUCKING WAY.

Of course there is one positive to this, possibly, that the last time VW let the UAW sink their claws into their operation, it was a disaster, if it’s a disaster again, and maybe weakens VW’s hold on the smaller budget Eurocar market, does that maaaaaaaybe open up things…

French_Frog

If VW totally flames out because of this, maybe Nissan-Renault or PSA Peugeot Citroen would entertain a return to the US market?

Not gonna lie, I’d love to see the Clio Sport or the 208 come to the US…

Opportunistic Fundraising Fail

Posted: April 7, 2014 by socklessjoe in FAIL, Lame

I’m sure some of you got Firefox-related fundraising spam from any number of conservative groups.  Here’s a particularly precious one I got from some group I’ve never even heard of.

alf1

Huh.  Didn’t know Firefox was a search engine.  Guess I’ve been using it wrong all this time. (Second screen-cap below the break.)

I mentioned in my earlier post that our insurance was going up due to the ACA. It’s not!

Instead of our rates going up, our insurance is being completely discontinued. Under the new regulations, a group policy cannot consist of two members if they are husband and wife – even if the two members hold two different policies within the same group. We were advised by Anthem that we should go through the exchanges and purchase individual health insurance.

There’s a problem with this, though – my husband works for a school district that requires employees to either buy health insurance through the district or show documentation annually that he is insured through another group policy. We started purchasing a group policy through our LLC several years ago when the cheapest policy, through Kaiser and after the district contribution, was more than $1000 a month.

At that time, insurance for our family through a small business group policy was just under $600 a month. It wasn’t a great policy, but we put aside the $400 a month difference. Most years we saw a profit from this. We had one catastrophic year where we paid more in out-of-pocket expenses by about $500 than what we’d saved for the year. Forming an LLC, moonlighting to supplement a school district income, and purchasing a small business group policy has become a not uncommon practice among the employees who don’t have a spouse with a job that provides health insurance. It’s certainly been cheaper and has allowed employees the freedom to choose their health insurance and choose how much to budget for insurance.

Over the years, our small business group policy has risen in cost to $950 a month. The not quite comparable district policy is nearly $1500 a month after the district’s contribution. Because my husband is a technical worker and not a teacher, he is not represented by a union and so this is about $100 more than what teachers will pay per month.

Thanks to Obamacare, we are being forced to pay over $500 more a month for health insurance so we can keep the doctors we like. We’re losing our deductible contribution for the year since our deductible resets in January but our health insurance resets in July. I can’t for the life of me figure out what we’re gaining from this. And I don’t know how forcing mom-and-pop businesses out of group plans that most closely match their demographic and in to policies that are expensive enough to close a barely-break-even business is helping small business, or the economy.

Riddle me this, morons…

How is it that repealing Obamacare could add to the deficit?

The original CBO score was a joke, and they had to lie, scrimp, and steal from other programs (like the student loan program) to make the bill as a whole score in their favor.

Since then, they’ve gone back on any number of cost saving and/or tax-raising measures, not the least of which are Tsar Obama’s royal proclamations of waivers and delays.

It was a lie to start, and they compounded the lie.

Fact Check: TRUE!

Huh?
