Come the conflagration

I’m sure everyone has seen this over at Insty’s but in case you missed it, this video is chilling.

h/t No Lawyers Only Guns and Money

Why do I say it’s chilling? Because of the incredibly justified rage that is being expressed by those who are asking the police the questions and by the complete and total failure of the police to provide meaningful responses. I know, I know, it’s been edited and blah blah blah but listen when the questions are asked and you can tell that the person attempting to answer cannot do so.

It’s also chilling because of how polite the questioners remain. Yes, it’s heated. Yes, there’s passion. But no one is storming the stage and no one is expressing displeasure through their fists. That makes the core of steel being shown by those in attendance that much stronger. This is a group of citizens stating flat out that they will not comply.

What is most chilling of all? The line of questions about how if these weapons are not needed by anyone outside the military then why do the police have them. The question “who are the police at war with” made my breath catch because everyone knows the answer.

The tiger’s tail has been pulled. The giant has been awoken. This is all going to end very, very badly.

I never wanted to live in interesting times.

A lot of time we forget just how different “Upstate” is from “Da City”

I loved when he said you have to destroy your newly illegal stuff and the crowd laughed.

What are the penalties? What are the penalties?
They refuse to answer that question.

Since the law was written so hurredly and stupidly, they might not have included any penalties.

That would be the epitome of 21st century lawmaking.

Any law talking guys want to take a stab at that?

What happens if no penalties are articulated in the law? Who decides what they are?

Me neither. Sometimes I feel like someone living in ancient Rome where I stick my head out the door and say “Where the hades did all these barbarians come from and why are they stealing all our stuff?”
