Mitch McConnell: So Stupid, He Qualifies to Lead the GOP

Posted: December 21, 2011 by Edward von Bear in Brevity etc.

Fuck you, Mitch McConnell. Brainfuck you with the stupid stick until you get smart. Fuck you for (once again) letting the Obamabots do to you what Bugs Bunny did to Yosemite Sam. Fuck you for giving the O-Bots the high ground on taxes. Fuck you for giving the O-Bots momentum and rising fortunes going into 2012. Fuck you for fucking us over worse than a whore who owes her pimp more than what she pulled in that night. And fuck you simply because I am sick and tired of seeing you stumblefuck from one fuckup to the next.

    Did I miss something?

…my take-away so far on this was that the House Republicans snatched certain defeat from the jaws of victory (I know I stole that from somewhere this morning, as I’ve been following this …well, now, maybe just “I thought I’d been following this”), but not just going along here with the Senate’s two-month extension.

Sure, the Senate GOP was only able to wring two months out of Harry Reid (the Senate remains under Dem control) …but by the House GOP not going-along-to-get-along here, Boehner handed Obama a critical talking point (the prez’ is now presenting himself as a tax cutter). Which the O’ wasted no time in turning into a 4 point rise in the polls.

All because the House (under GOP control), decide to do an FU to the Senate (under Dem’ control).

And it wasn’t like ANYONE was NOT going to pass the rest of the full year extension before the 2 months passed (after the Christmas recess …and do note the Senate has already went home for the holidays). SO …by the House sitting on this, the Keystone pipeline to the Gulf refineries is now …well, it was tied to the Senate bill. So now, nothing.

And so the Canadian prime minister – clearly fed up with petty American political posturing by both the Obama administration AND the frelling parties – is saying he doesn’t necessarily NEED to sell to the US. Canada HAS someone who really, really wants that oil.

AND the Chinese are willing to not just pay for the bloody oil, but are going to cut a check to finance any pipeline routed through to BC on the Pacific Coast. Sweet. For the Canadians.

(Yeah, the Canadians have environmental issues to get through that way themselves, but once they go with that option, we’ll have effectively cut off our feet to spite our legs.)

    We …got nothin’.

…so my current read here, is that this is why it’s the House being unnecessarily intransigent for what they thought would be a short term talking point, that has instead handed the president a plausible talking point (and a definite political victory).

    Not Good.

(Not that I have any love lost for frelling Mitch frelling McConnell mind you: he’s an a$$. But in this case, he’s not THE a$$.)

  2. ^maybe, but any chance I get to slam the dipshits who run the GOP, I take it. And Mitch is one of the “leaders”, so fuck him.

  3. The Senate screwed this up. Implementing this for two months? Really? It will take longer than that for the government to even set it up. It was a stupid idea to begin with, and I’m getting so damn tired of the “kick the can down the road” approach from both of the parties. They are unserious assholes who deserve all the scorn and derision they are garnering by making procrastination a legislative practice.

Nice to know you aren’t dead, Eddie.

I still can’t believe he said this
GOP Senate leader Mitch McConnell famously said a year ago that his main task in the 112th Congress was to make sure that President Obama would not be re-elected

No, your fucking job is to pass good laws and stop Obama and the Dems from destroying our freedom and our nation’s prosperity to give money and power to Dem campaign contributors.

    Jackass.
The worst part is that you know he said that and thought, “There, that oughtta shut up them tea party assholes”.

The GOP establishment is not much better than the Dems, and in some ways it’s worse because they’re destroying the GOP and then blaming it on the Tea Party because we are so “unhelpful”.

Another thing, as has been noted, no, Obama’s not a “tax cutter” for a stupid fucking 2 month delay in taxes.
Tax cuts shouldn’t have an expiration date (you hear me Bush and 2002 GOP?), especially not a 2 month window.

Tax cuts have an effect, they change long term thinking. A 2 month tax-delay does allow for anything except to have a few extra dollars for a couple months.
